If Plant was up 5-0 on one card, it's even more impressive that Benavidez won the last 7 rounds rounds in a row. All it would've taken Plant was to box and move for 3 minutes to make it a draw but David would not be denied.

Yeah the name and where it happens. If it inside a boxing ring it's called a clinch. If it's outside a boxing is called a hug. Clinches should be illegal. We pay to see a fight. To see punches, otherwise I would be watching a wrestling match. I don't know who the ***s idea was to make that part of boxing.

Clenelo Alvaroid and Fast Eddie probably paid Bayless, so they can rematch Plant to avoid Benavidez.

A referee that can't do their job and notice when a boxer is constantly hugging clinching shouldn't be allowed to ref fights of this magnitude. Been watching boxing for many many years and Bayless has ALWAYS been like that. It was obvious he allowed plant to hold hug and clinch without not even a damn warning. Bena had plant afraid to engage all night and a referee who did a terrible job and still gave plant a beating! Bena backed up his ish talking and showed plant aint on his level and plant got exposed

And if you were all that you would have stopped him regardless of Bayless, you got EXPOSED....

Nah, of course the excessive holding from Plant was obvious, but Bayless was stopping the action and warning Benavidez, for no apparent reason, a few times when he had Plant ready to go. But, at the end, it didn't matter, besides the pride of knocking him out, David put a serious beating on Caleb.

Benavidez put a brutal beating on the opponent AND overcame the incompetence of the referee.

Kenny Bayless was shameful, and unacceptable! He clearly didn't want to see Caleb Plant get KTFO!

Plant's a decent fighter, but the fight showed how hard it is to keep a good pressure fighter like DB away for 12 rounds if he's got no respect for your punching power.

I've been watching a lot of fights from the 70s and 80s lately. They were a lot quicker to call holding and take points away. And the boxers knew it. The fights were so much better.
