Why everyone hate bayless? It was a great fight and thank god it wasn’t stopped there was no need to stop that fight. You don’t stop a fight just cause a fighter is hurt. U stop a fight when a fighter no longer can intelligently defend themselves. Bayless let it go and we were blessed with a classic

I don't believe this is sincere from Plant. The first 6 rounds he was showboating. If Caleb would've clapped David like he did Dirrel, he would've been classless in celebration after the fight while digging a grave

The only reason he's trying to be humble now is because he was humbled. Plain and simple

'Throw combos when necessary ' lol thats why u lost fight my dude ,sweet cheeks completely abandoned his strat of moving throwing reseting just when benny was starting get frustrated with all those missed shots ,same deal as the canelo fight started well just end up fading only difference is ginger did stop him benny couldn't even drop him and dont blame bayless entirely who did messed up in some of his actions but truth is benny had many instances to end fight.... he just couldn't.

With Plant it’s simple, he’s not strong enough and doesn’t hit hard enough for bruisers like Canelo and Benavidez. Nothing wrong with the heart, in fact I commend him he could have died. He just doesn’t have the physicality, and he has nothing to keep these guys off him. Put him in with another boxer in the top 10 and he’ll do just fine, a high level puncher/pressure fighter, and you’re going to have an issue every time.

Exactly this, he just hasn't have the pop to keep strong pressure fighters off of him. But he should definitely be among the top guys in the division. He's got good skill and lots of heart, if he could fight more loose he'd make it the 12 without gassing

Both guys come off looking pretty good after that fight. Especially Beni he battered Plant. Plant hung in there and took his L like a man. The only loser in this fight was Bayless. Once upon a time a good ref he needs to retire, or stay away from big fights.

If Plant would have won I don't think David would have been a gracious loser either.

Plant soon realized Benavidez is not Uzcategui. If Plant wants to secure a long career he should fight middleweights like Andrade or Charlo or SMWs who don't pack a punch

I think the other part of that his defense is not as good as he thinks. He doesn't have the instincts, eyes or reflexes to use the half guard as prominently as he does. Everything you said was spot on. I don't know how many people have successfully increased their stamina after years of it being poor. I wonder if it a lifestyle thing between fights, nervous energy or just the way he is.

The other part is that he doesn't have the ability to put of a poker face while fighting the exhaustion and mentally, he completely unravels. He might be relegated to a gatekeeper very soon.

Was at the fight live and only a few rows from the ring.

In person once the 3rd round got going Benavudez started hurting Plant with single shots which is why Plant started moving back so much.

Anytime Plant did land, Benavidez pretty much turned up the pace and answered back.

One thing for sure is that Benavidez was never in any danger and was overall having a good time compared to Plant. During the last third of the fight Breadman was very close to stopping the fight several times like mere feet away with towel in hand.
