I swear, it’s like a bunch of emotional females have never seen a boxing match in all their lives. In EVERY HOLD it takes two to make that dance; the one doing initiating the hold and the willing participant allowing the hold. Don’t like the hold? It’s EASY!!! Create distance as he closes in, (aka use your feet) create that separation then punch! The problem is Benevidez does not have good feet whatsoever. He’s a slumbering slug. Solid boxer, but his footwork is awful.
Gotta give credit where it’s due and imo David started figuring it out towards the later rounds how to move to try to avoid the holding
His biggest shots were in tangled situations
I still would have taken a point away from Plant because he was Excessively holding
That is also the difference between this fight and the fight he gave to Canelo
Some guys here with their triangle beliefs think that Benavidez not getting the ko is gonna lose automatically to Canelo

I agree to an extent. However, if Plant was “excessively holding” then Mayweather would never have won a bout. That’s ALL he did and he did it well. That’s what made him a master boxer.

Sam Watson was obviously not happy with the decision. He was already congratulating Valenzuela before the announcement was made.

Yes but in hindsight yours truly , Mr Bayless , was guilty of being the third man in many of those fights
I can understand holding to a certain degree and even using it to your advantage coming out of the clinch and getting the better of your opponent but yesterday it was excessive imo
I’m the third man in there , i would of warned Plant twice and on the third clinch , taken a point away for beginners

But I can't be mad at Colbert... was he supposed to admit that he lost the fight? I don't remember any time a fighter admitted that they received a gift or that they believe they lost... I'm sure it's happened but it ain't the norm.

At least Colbert offered the rematch. I think that should happen... Extremely unfortunate for Valenzuela.

I hate seeing this kind of shyt.

Robberies piss me off. Even if the gift decision went to the guy I was rooting for. It's simply not right.

I think the guy that was given the decision over Roy Jones in the olympics admitted it

thats the only ones i can think of are the amateur ones

One thing about Colbert though, I was impressed by his display of courage and character. Guy was fighting hurt the entire damn fight yet hung on by a thread while landing his own shots. He had to pull every trick in his book to survive basically. Valenzuela missed alot of punches tbh.

I was watching the fight sort of half assed while eating a meal so I cant be sure, but Valenzuela losing never crossed my mind after several rounds. Infact I was begging Colbert to just stay up for 10 rds so that my money dont get fked up lol.

So holding makes you a master boxer? I agree it's a tactic. But it's a tactic in boxing that is used by boxers that don't want to engage or are hurt. It's a bad look. It's main purpose is to stop the action. Nobody wants to see two 'master boxers' hugging it out in the ring. It works the same way a wrestler in MMA can control and win a fight by leg humping. Of course nobody wants to see it.

Way colbert is handling it is being way more of a poor fake winner.

What he should say is 135 isnt for me . Im moving back down. Not say rayo is a sore loser. Just makes you look like a ducking coward. What is rayo meant to do. He got robbed in a fight he clearly won by a few points.

If you gave colbert every close round, you can only find 5 rounds to give him so he still loses by a point so begs the question what went on with the judging.

                      boxing officiating is horrendous.
