Andre Ward vs Dmitry Bivol at 175 (Hypothetical)

Andre Michael Ward (born February 23, 1984) is an American former professional boxer who competed from 2004 to 2017. He retired with an undefeated record of 32 wins with 16 knockouts and held multiple world championships in two weight classes, including unified super middleweight titles between 2009 and 2015, and unified light heavyweight titles between 2016 and 2017. During his reign as light heavyweight champion, Ward was ranked as the world's best active boxer, pound for pound, by The Ring magazine and the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board (TBRB), as well as the world's best active boxer in the division by The Ring, the TBRB, and BoxRec. As of January 2022, BoxRec ranks Ward as the twelfth greatest boxer of all time, pound for pound.

As an amateur boxer, Ward won the light heavyweight gold medal at the 2004 Olympics and turned professional later that year. He rose to worldwide prominence upon entering the Super Six World Boxing Classic tournament in 2009, where he won the World Boxing Association (WBA) super middleweight title (Super version) from Mikkel Kessler in the opening group stage.

Ward finished his amateur career with a record of 115 wins and 5 losses.

He had defeated Mikkel Kessler, Allan Green, Sakio Bika, Arthur Abraham, Carl Froch, Chad Dawson, Edwin Rodriguez, Sullivan Barrera, Alexander Brand and Sergey Kovalev X2.

Dmitry Yuryevich Bivol (Russian: Дмитрий Юрьевич Бивол; born 18 December 1990) is a Russian professional boxer who has held the WBA light heavyweight title since 2017. As an amateur, he won a gold medal at the 2013 World Combat Games in the 81 kg weight category. As of November 2022, Bivol is ranked as the world's third best active boxer, pound for pound, by BoxRec, fifth by the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board (TBRB), sixth by The Ring, and seventh by the Boxing Writers Association of America and ESPN. He is also ranked as the best light heavyweight by The Ring, ESPN, and BoxRec, and second by TBRB.

Bivol was a decorated amateur, winning 2 world championships at the junior (U-17) level, as well as a bronze medal at the 2008 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships in the middleweight division.

Bivol won the Russian national amateur boxing championships in 2012 and 2014, as a light heavyweight. His record as an amateur is 268–15.

He currently holds an undefeated record of 21 wins with 11 knockouts. He holds wins over Sullivan Barrera, Jean Pascal, Joe Smith Jr, Craig Richards, Umar Salamov, Saul (Canelo) Alvarez and Gilberto Ramirez.

Bivol beats Ward. He is simply a better boxer with higher activity with a stellar gas tank. faster hands and feet.

Ward's spoiling tactics won't work either against a guy with faster feet.

Ward retired shortly after going to Bivol's camp. I have a feeling they sparred.

Andre Ward lost the first Kovalev fight and the second the ref called his literal 5 punch combination to the balls a knockout.

We've seen other fighters do intentional ball punches before but Andre Ward is the first I seen in 20 years of following the sport who performed a full on 5 punch combination right to the testicles and acted like it was normal.

all these fantasy matchups are really tough, noone is unbeatable and if u have your 0 u tend to win a lot of them anyway, id probably go for bivol because hes the guy of the moment i guess and has a good style, i didnt like the way ward went about some things and his fans are hard to take at times too

Ward by a close decision I’d say.

I think Bivol is a good fighter. I knew he would give canelo a hard time. That said, regarding him as “great” isnt called for. Canelo is small, short armed and always had a hard time looking good against BOXERS in the first few rounds. The SIZE of Bivol had a huge effect.
Ward wins on all 3 judges cards. TOO FAST & technical. Wards too much of an animal to not capitalize on Bivol's “careful” nature. Also note Calzaghe would of easily whipped Bivol as well. Just too fast and technical too. Note that both men could match Bivols size and ring generalship EASILY.

Ward by a robbery, just like against Kovalev.

Cmon now, Russian won`t get fair decision fighting American in America.

ward isn't that fast tho which is why he always relegates to clinching. if he had true speed superiority, he wouldn't need to be touched in fights and win easy like Bivol does. this is why he uses Hopkins tactics. Hopkins lost to RJJ/Taylor because he couldn't clinch them as they were faster.

show me a clip of Ward throwing rapid 10 punch combos on an elite fighter. you can't.

Bivol is noticeably faster by a margin.
