Here's an article about the same thing. Rumor with at least a bit of substance, perhaps. We'll all believe when they are actually in the ring, maybe not even until the final bell, at this point.

Was Floyd/Manny eh whatever? If memory serves me, that fight happened 4-5 years too late as well. They seemed to do okay. So we can throw that logic out the window.

I disagree man. Tank/Garcia, maybe. Plant/Benavidez? I have no plans tomorrow night but I'll still skip that one. Absolutely zero interest in it. Maybe I'm not a boxing fan anymore, or maybe Plant/Benavidez being a "big fight" is laughable to me. This is HBO Boxing After Dark.

The thing how it works now is the big names in boxing get linked by comparisons so guys like Spence Crawford get a lot of fan wakening from the likes of Canelo etc, no doubt Spence Crawford is one of the biggest fights in boxing being the best two WWs, if they come out and announced it tomorrow they would get a lot of momentum going forward because it would be plastered all over boxing with a lot of content on that fight. Gotta think ahead and be positive brother it's not always potholes down the road.

Floyd and Manny were able to milk the fight into advanced age because they were globally known. Nobody outside of texas and omaha nebraska knows nor cares about crawford and spence, its just reality.
