Triple bum was gifted the contract of a lifetime by the idiots at DAZN. He cant draw flies to **** but they were paying him 20 million a fight to knock out uber drivers and lithiuanian turnip farmers. I cant really fault him for fighting the likes of steve rolls if DAZN were willing to pay him superfight money for it. I would fight steve rolls for 20 million myself

He’s the man at 154 st the time and said he’d come up

that’s when I figured this guy out…hbo was trying to turn him Into manny pac part 2….they wanted no part of Lara because they didn’t think golovkin would look great …hbo paid him to headline against guys they would have never greenlighted for anyone else as a headliner

I’ll never forget the way golovkin fans talked about jacobs “Danny duckin…he scared …he got dropped by mora lol” then after the fight it’s “Danny was a cruiser in there”

never forget how they talked about how golovkin would end canelos career savagely…then cried about how canelo fought along with golovkin team….only to have canelo oblige them in a rematch and golovkin still not able to get it done

golovkin was a good fighter….that’s it…that’s about it….some of y’all had him a as the greatest mw Of all time…don’t tell me ppl didn’t…I was there

yes he made more, but his legacy also took a dent from fighting canelo... look at G now. he's not the same. If he never fought canelo, he would still be view as a top fighter and he can use that to sell his fights in hopes that he will fight canelo next! look at floyd/pac and how they tricked the fans for years before finally fighting against each other.

I disagree with the premise of this thread. You're focusing on 3 things:

Lara - this fight wasn't interesting 5 years ago, and it's still not interesting. It brings nothing for his legacy (oh he beat a washed up 40 year old) or financially (Lara was never a draw).

"Friendship has won" - these 2 shared 36 rounds of ring time. No matter the hate, the accusations, the ducking, the PEDs, the disrespect, all of that.. after being linked together for close to a decade, and after sharing so much ring time, none of us here are qualified to judge these 2 for how they feel about each other. That's a bond that none of us will ever understand.

Cash out - he's earned his right to big money fights. He's struggled enough for them. In the trilogy fight, it was Golovkin who was bringing the action in the 2nd half of the fight. That's not a man who came to take a beating and cash out. Yeah, he started too slowly (same as vs. canelo 2, Jacobs and Sergiy), and conserved his energy. But that was a fight of a 30 year old Canelo vs. 40 year old Golovkin. Not sure what else you expect.

Ur right..I don’t wanna watch it now…but like 10 years Argo when Lara called for it and he def sounds been best name on golovkin resume? Ya I woulda liked to see it….but hbo and golovkin ppl knew it wasn’t a fight he’d look great in…which is why they shot it down w every lame excuse they could come up with …
but ya I have no desire to see it now

I understand a guy wanting to make as much money as possible. But man his resume is complete **** until the jacobs fight

Danny jacobs is his best win. Then once he got the Canelo money he felt entitled to only fighting Canelo from then on. Mix in a few scrubs who had no shot.
