    Answer that for a second...............
    90% of the time

And that 10% is usually because of:

    .big weight disadvantage
    .fading and tiring out
.or a ****** mistake on the more skilled fighters part

My point is that people who say ****** **** like "Heart doesn't matter" or is overrated are ***in idiots.

Because if you give me two guys that are equally matched but one has more heart, I guarantee you he will win everytime.

Gatti vs Mayweather was a mismatch but it still took a lot of heart for Gatti to hang in there as long as he did.
This I agree with. But notice, you put skills first. Do you agree that if you put a guy with superior skills vs. a not-so-skilled dude with heart, guy A will win? I know this isn't always the case, it depends on how much or little heart the skilled guy has. However, the point I'm trying to make is that no amount of heart can compensate for a lack of skills. Zab Judah beat Mickey Ward. I think that says it all.

        Very, very good point.

WEll I would like to think I'm a good trainer. I am an apprentice in the training game, the way it should be. It takes years to learn to be a good trainer and have been doing it for a while now. You would be surprised as to how many clowns I run into in the sport claiming they are trainers.....sad.

Yes he's that bad. He has ZERO athletic ability. I mean, when he fist joined the gym it looked like he was Frankenstein. He had no movement what so ever.....

90% is an exaggeration. I can name many fights in the history of boxing that contradict that. Most recently Marg vs Cotto. Don't talk to me aboit the wraps either because Marg has been bullying fighters his entire career.

I never said skills weren't the most important. I just pointed out that the idiot in the other thread made it seem as though heart is inconsequential in boxing.

Believe me when I tell you this, I can't count the times guys have come into the ring that are fast, quick and strong and have gotten their ass kicked because once they get hit in the mouth, all that **** goes out the window.

          Heart matter a lot man....

See, I can own your argument just as easily with shallow examples.
No, because Meldrick was totally beat up physically. He might have been outboxing JCC, but he never inflicted damage. Chavez' punches didn't come as often as Taylor's, but they caused more damage, and by the 12th round JCC was fresh and Meldrick was destroyed. JCC proved to be the better fighter. He might not have been the most skilled at fighting on the outside between the two, but he proved to be the more skilled inside fighter, the more powerful fighter, and the one with the better chin. Meldrick could've had all the heart in the world (and he did, he showed it by getting up), but after the physical beating he took, nothing mattered.

Not directly, but the title of your topic is that heart is the most important attribute, which is still saying the same thing.

That's definitely true. I know that it matters, it's a requirement to have heart to succeed in such a brutal sport. But my position is that skills come first, heart second.

Lol im sure you're good man not trying to say you arent, i'd love to train and corner guys after my career is over, i've already taught a few kids basic stuff in the gym and it's kinda fun but frustrating if they are idiots or unco

look i know man heart is important, but not as much as skill
