Canelo is going to avoid all power punchers of Black and Brown persuasion......until further notice.

Does David even have an opponent this Saturday or is he fighting himself?

Just bc he might not be considered an elite trainer doesn't mean what he was quoted on in the article isn't true. Not a fan of alot of the talking he's been doing lately(even though most of it is fueled by their genuine dislike for Plant), but he made some very obvious points in his quotes that are hard to deny. As much as Father Time is on Canelo's tail at this point in his career, he's still the king of their division, still the biggest name in the sport, and brings in the kind of bread everybody is chasing after. Can't blame him for running his mouth(even if it's a little too much at times), but if Benavidez handles Plant in impressively, the clamor for him and Canelo to lock horns will be huge. Despite the deficiencies that people believe they see in him, Benavidez is a big problem, literally and figuratively speaking, for anybody at SMW/LHW and all those guys know it.

OK, How about taking all that bravado and bull**** and stepping up to 175 and calling out Beterbiev. No, you'll never hear it. Too much heat for Benevidez and his Flying Monkey!
Of course he wants to fight the high-mileage smaller man. Even with that said, Canelo is still the king of the division he is in and is the cash cow of the sport. Benavidez is on the same mission like everyone else that hasn't got their shot at Canelo. He's that life-changing payday everybody wants and this would probably be the most anticipated fight in the sport if Benavidez gets by Plant with passing grades. Agreed that he should move up to 175 at some point soon and get at the big dogs up there. But everybody in and around Canelo's weight class want his scalp on their ledger and you can't blame them. It's prizefighting and the Canelo fight is the ultimate prize that's on the line for the winner of this fight. Right now, he needs to focus on how he's gonna deal with Plant bc Plant on paper is his easily his most difficult test to date. Looking forward to this seeing this one playing out.

Not really, triangle theories rarely works in boxing. Two different styles, canelo and benavidez.

In addition David should have left the weight class years ago. Why doesn’t he? He knows, his Dad knows and his camp knows he gets floored by Beterbiev, and gets danced around in circles and his head boxed off by Bivol. In those fights he and his father know the only tactic they know how to employ will be DOA when he steps into the ring with either of them two. There is no plan B for him because he is trained one way and one way only. What happens when that plan doesn’t work and the guys you face hit like sledge hammers?

it’s easy to look like a super star when your entire career has been facing boxing cans.
The only one you mentioned that hits like sledgehammer is berteviev, canelo is not one punch ko artist, he hasn't ko anyone really good nor elite. And bivol will be content with boxing your ears off. By the same token, canelo hasn't face a fighter like benavidez, so when they fight, if they fight, we going to have a few questions answered. You see, canelo's career has been carefully planned, educated risks and some real risk ala Erislandy Lara.
