in 2 almost identical fighters, if 1 was given more heart he would probably win. heart gives you stamina when you dont have it.. it gives you belief that you can win. without hope, your just in there trying to survive. if you have heart you keep trying to win longer.

    example: gatti-ward
    coralles-castillo
    ali-frazier

i rest my case. what would mean more to you? if someone said you have a warrior's heart, or a nice stiff jab

so you think heart is ******, do you think being brave or corageous is ******?

bravery is being scared (probably for good reason) and doing it anyways.. to you it would just be ******ity.. but there is a time and a place for everything. when a fighter wants to be remembered, and have a legacy.. every fight is in history and on tape forever. this is what some of these guys live for, do you think theyre gonna quit after a hard punch, and then for the rest of their lives wonder if they could have won if they didnt quit? no!

being brave, courageous, and having heart may be '******' but it earns respect from men who know what its like. you should try it some time, you might like it... nothing is more satisfying is coming back after a beating to win, because the other guy didnt have it in him anymore

just because you can win fights without heart doesnt mean it's not important to have. maybe you did beat up a few pipsqueeks with aggression and a hard head.. but have you ever gone a few rounds with a real fighter? heart seperates the men from the boys..

            but you know what?

i still wont talk **** about duran, cotto, morales.. or a lot of other fighters that quit. they just did the smart thing..

but some guys just are ******* who dont exercise, aren't skilled, and don't even try. that just makes me want to slap them in the face for wasting my time

Exactly, if you do not want to get hit, take a sport like swimming. Boxing is a brutal sport and Aareola eventhough he is a tough guy, did not prepare himself for the fight. Here is a guy who is fighting the HW champion of the world and comes in overweight and with little training for this fight. He is very lucky that Klisk is a slow puncher and does not throw punches like lets say a guy like Mike Tyson. If Klisk had bombs in his arsenal, he would have knocked this guy's head off in the first few rounds. Aareola decided that he was not going to take this fight seriously because maybe in his mind he really thought he could hurt this guy.

That is right, and Flawless says "he has boxed and had many street fights" yeah, he probably ran home to his mommies basement. That is why his t shirt is all sweaty from running home so he wouldn't get beat up.

                    Heart is overrated.

Its incredibly hard to determine if someone is really fighting out of heart.

When I think of heart, I think of someone continuing even though they are in great pain. How can you tell that most of the time?

Take 2 people, and put them in exactly the same situation. 1 person gives up or fails, the other keeps going.

Just because that other one kept going doesn't mean he is mentally tougher, he might just not physically hurt as much as the other. But others will say he had more heart.

Now transfer that pain to the one who kept going, unless the person was a total wimp, he will probably give up to.

What an idiot the TS is. Heart goes hand in hand with determination and toughness; all important qualities. Chin determines what you get hurt or knocked down from, those other qualities determine whether you pull through it.

Without heart Mayweather doesn't finish the first Castillo fight; he would have quit due to injury. Without heart, he would have quit when he broke his hand against El Famoso. The examples are non stop and the times when heart comes into play for a fighter are often even if you can't see it.
