The classic mexican style is not the best in my opinion. The only way you can really be successful with it is to have both a great chin, and power....like JCC for example.....if you don't have those qualities in addition to great heart you can't work that style effectively.

More like if Chris didn't bring his FACE to Vitali's punches...

Chris did nothing. He wasn't throwing ANY punches. Vitali was landing about the same number of punches Chris was THROWING.

I hate when ignorant fighters like you think that going forward means being aggressive. Just because your heroes can't fight going backwards, that doesn't mean it's not an effective style. Look at Floyd Mayweather, Paulie Malignaggi, Pernell Whitaker, even Oscar against Tito. These guys outland their opponents while going backwards. The Klitschko's even knock them out while retreading, so please stop with this "the guy coming forward is the one bringing the fight". All they're doing is TRYING to find a spot to land their shots, but they don't even throw anything because the slicker, smarter boxer takes away their strenghts.

Guys let's not be politically correct...this ain't CNN this is boxingscene we can safely come out and say that yes the majority of Mexicans fight with CRUDE boxing skills, come forward all heart all chin style whereas Puerto Ricans are usually more refined technically but have less heart/chin. It's no great secret...and it's true I wish Mexico would stop glorifying guys who can do it right like JCC and all being punching bags but I know that JMM is a recent great example to Mexicans with Nacho in his corner of how a technical fighter should fight. Hopefully young Mexicans will follow the footsteps equally 50/50 of JMM/JCC not just JCC 100%.

Exactly. And those guys, especially Morales and Barrera, had GREAT fundamentals. They knew the sweet science well. Morales is one of my all-time favorite fighters, but it always bothered me how he got dragged into brawls when he could've dominated if he just boxed from the outside. That ****** macho thing severely shortened his career and hindered his success.

what about finito lopez, marquez is pretty skilled too. but your right that rock em sock em mentaility only gets you so far. Trust me though mexicans will adapt and we will continue to have annoying mexican fans like me bolstering about their countryman. There will also always be european champions, african-american champions, african champions, fillipino, puerto rican etc champions dude. boxing is universal and not every mexican will only fight one way.

You spend all day ****ting on Cotto (The Ricans numero uno dude) and now your praising their ideology and how skilled they are compared to Mexicans? You know damn well that's gonna have the Mexicans call out the Ricans. It's just another one of your racist posts...
