Joyce is only scratching the surface of what he could be with hard work and improvements. I am pumped to see what he brings to this fight. Zhang could seriously upset a ton of peoples long term plans with an upset here. Very excited for this one.

Joyce can really rock the heavyweight division if only they let him in
He really is the best of the bunch
Only problem is , high risk with no reward

        You gotta love Joe Joyce.

The frenchman is irrelevant in the pros, no need to make him famous by mentionning his name.

Hrgovic-Zhang was a close contest. The knockdown was questionable.

He is almost 38 & by the time he gets his WBO shot he could be pushing 40.

Last weekend, Joyce suffered the second defeat of his pro career, when he was outworked by division veteran Carlos Takam.

I like Joyce and feel he can really do well at the top level of the division. However, I feel his lack of speed will be his downfall against the elite (Fury and Usyk), he will be way to slow for those pair who will pepper him with shots all night. They won’t knock him out, but they will easily outpoint him. But, I feel Joyce beats anyone else in the division other than those 2. Even Wilder, Joyce has a granite chin, so would be interesting to see how he handles the power of Wilder, personally I think Joyce is able to withstand those shots and KOs Wilder.

You know... I keep blanking on how old he actually is. He kind of has a ticking clock doesn't he?

The boxing world painted Larry Holmes as washed-up after being shaved by Michael Spinks. He was 36 but in fairness his odometer had some mileage on it. Others before him, Ali and Louis, notably, were mere fractions of their former selves at 34. But there have been a couple of strange ones that seemed to do well into and past 40. Possibly Sonny Liston (who I suspect was as old as 42 when he won the title) and George Foreman, who, another contributor to these boards astutely pointed out, Joyce appeared to be a modern-day version. But Foreman wasn't using his chin as a prideful primary means of defense. A few matches back I was literally shocked at how Joyce kept allowing right hands to get through, and it was there I decided he was not going to arrive at his destination as heavyweight king. He is super tough, but the odometer tends to surge forward with each big right hand that connects. At his best, Joyce operates behind a Foremanesque left-jab, not the chin.

Regardless of me being right or wrong (and there is room for both here), Joyce has succeeded to date in ascending the ranks and becoming a compelling heavyweight figure. He has my attention.
