He has to find a way derail the freight train that is Benavidez. He's got to get in and out, mix it up and then get out of range.

Rinse and repeat, easier said than done. He's got to have enough on his punches, otherwise Benavidez is going to beat him down.

I suppose Plant could go back and have a look at David's fights with Gavril, where he did lose some rounds.

Caleb is my dude with mad boxing skills however, I'm looking at his training and it's all wrong and I say that because no where does he have the baseball bat that he will need to stop Benavidez, there's a reason Canelo want no part of him; he's all wrong for most.

I know that Plant’s probably working his ass off in the gym preparing for this fight but it doesn’t matter cuz he’s getting KTFO.

I hope Plant is training with hard hitting sparring partners who will bring in constant pressure during the sparring sessions. These guys need to come out and bring the heat hard and heavy to mimick's Benavidez's style of fighting. If he could adjust to this style of pressure while boxing and moving I think Plant stands a good chance. If not then the fight will be over in round 9.

Yup, because Plant has never fought an elite level pressure fighter before. Canelo is definitely not one of those.

Pressure fighters are often tailor made for boxers, because you can walk them into things. It's not even like Benavidez has a huge reach advantage; he's only got a half inch on Plant.

I think Benavidez is really unproven at this level, and if he beats Plant, that will be the best name on his resume. Plant certainly has the ability to shock the Benavidez stans.

Caleb's advantage is he has more rounds at a high level - lets just call it that he has more experience. His win over Dirrell is a mirage - Dirrell was washed. So Calebs best win is Truax/Feigenbutz/Uzcategui - take ya pick.

Benavidez has also not been in with a death row line up of opponents. Medina, Gavril, J'Leon Love, Ant. Dirrell, Angulo, Ellis, Kyrone Davis, faded Lemieux - but lets face it, he did what he had to do. Ko'd the lot of them apart from Gavril who has had 5 fights since with a combined record of 76-48 - essentially Benevidez ruined Gavril.

This looks a bit like the past weekend but amplified in reverse. I'll explain. We had Harrison playing the part of Plant. Unlike Plant, when Harrison stepped up he beat Charlo. And we had Tszyu playing th epart of Benavidez - except David has a lot more experience than Tim and has already been a champion. But essentially its the same - more experienced boxer versus a younger pressure fighter.

Anything CAN happen in boxing- that's the beauty of it. But what should happen here is that Plant wins a few rounds but eventually Benavidez' pressure takes it's toll in the 2nd half and we either get a stoppage or a clear 7-5 rounds UD for David.

I can't see this going any other way than Plant getting planted
