Actually I got an even simpler reason for him being a nice guy,

He was himself, basically an *******, but the media covered it and enjoyed the ratings. But the minute the dog (floyd) bit their hand (He said the media was out to get him and talked all kinds of bs) he quickly got a ***** slap in the form Max Kellerman and everyone telling him to fight someone his size.

He quickly wised up and realized he ****ed up and bit that hand that fed him. And is now acting good so he doesn't get another Max Kellerman and Shane episode when he fights another featherweight.

Tommy Morrison was a huge star because he was in a movie. Outside of that he was an exciting fighter, but one that would have been largely forgotten had he not been in Rocky V.

Um, have you ever seen pre-De La Hoya, Floyd Mayweather?

Go even further back to his days in the lower weights, and you could see easily, that this 'new nice guy' persona, is genuinely the real Floyd Mayweather Jr.

joe louis fought at a time where boxing fans was`nt as nationalistic as they are now.most boxing fans today tend to only support there own kind.

A few examples are paul williams shane mosley and Tim Bradley.those fighters are exciting to watch but no fan base.Mosley mainly does well when fights a well known latino fighter.

Kelly pavlik on the other hand got a big fan base almost overnight and he does`nt talk thrash.same with Joe Mesi,Hatton and many other white foighters .

A black fighter whose talented plus being an *******=big money.

Marvin Hagler was a huge star in the eighties and he never tried to be nice, but never went out of his way to act like a jerk either. Blue collar America loved Hagler.

It certainly was. Back than it was much tougher for a black man to gain acceptance from the majority of white Americans. What Louis did is incredible.

This is a ****** post. Louis fought in a time when it was all about representing your nationality. Learn some boxing history before opening your mouth.
