Top heavyweight contender Martin Bakole claims he has already 'stopped' both Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois in sparring. Bakole has been out of the ring since May, when he handed Olympic gold medal winner Tony Yoka his first career defeat, but is hoping to secure a world title shot of some description before 2023 is out.

I also stopped them both in sparring. Then i did 150 one arm push ups and stopped Tyson Fury after that. I want them all.

Usyk is busy negotiating with Tyson and according to Bakole. Dubois won't fight him.

Yup, I’ll take how Usyk and Bakole did against their only common opponent, when both fought a prime version of him, over some unsubstantiated story about sparring without any context.

Beyond asking whether or not the story is true, you have to ask questions like: how many rounds did they spar? Did Bakole win all of them? Were they both fresh? Or was Bakole cycling in after Usyk had put in 10 rounds already and Bakole was the last 4?

If the last AJ -Usyk fight was a sparring match, yeah they would have stopped it when AJ was battering him around the…. was it 8th or 9th? In general, in camp, it isn’t worth the wear and tear to keep fighting through those scenarios. So AJ would have been able to lay claim that he stopped Usyk in sparring.

Bakole probably just lost out on a lot of future sparring, and this will hurt his development.
