Comments Thread For: Usyk Says He Is Adopting 'New Workouts' to Prepare for 'Big and Tall' Fury; Hints at Increasing Weight

Pointless conversation, the fight's dead, according to reports if there was a 90-10 split it wouldn't come close to what Fury's demanding. Fury's not even in camp.
Let's move on.
Fury can go fight Ruiz for the sasquatch belt & Usyk can get on with his mandatories, Dubois will step aside, who's next? Joyce revenge fight or Hrgovic? Though Hrgovic makes no money.Comment

Adding weight and mass as some other people have stated? Is unnecessary and I think has proven historically that it does not automatically make a Heavyweight a better fighter 'If the mass is non-functional, then it will not make the fighter better all around'.
Boxing is a sport about function and performance, when you break in down into its skill and physical demands. Just adding mass does what exactly? Many attributes can be negatively effected if the mass is non-functional, and just additional weight with a marginal strength gain.
Power to weight ratio, flexibility, agility, speed, endurance. All of these area's can be effected negatively if the mass is non-functional and not conditioned 'To add mass and weight as a boxer is a ability, some fighters seem to do it better than others'.
Tyson Fury now at 270 + pounds, is not the same type of fighter he was when he was 240-250 pounds. In some area's he is better, in other area's he is clearly miles worst 'And this is because Tyson Fury at 270+ pounds is not solid at the weight and his endurance is completely overrated'.
For Usyk to perform to his best, at this stage of his career 'I think he should just be himself, he is a old school Heavyweight in terms of physique'.
Too often non-Super Heavyweights in this era, get influenced by the Super Heavyweights 'And think they have to try and play them at their own game'.
Fact of the matter is for the large majority of boxing history, Super Heavyweights have not dominated 'And for sure they have been about in past era's, they just could not cope with the training and competition environment back then'.
Most Super Heavyweights in today's era, are just Heavyweights out of condition 'Very few are solid at the weight'. They use the number on the scale to claim that they are some sort of monster Super Heavyweight.
Tyson Fury is no genetic marvel in my opinion 'Not to the level people make out'. Pound for pound all around Usyk is a better athlete.
I have stated in another thread, that Mike Tyson at his heaviest was 239 pounds vs Neilson 'And by his own standards he was out of condition'.
You would get some people in today's era, claiming Mike Tyson was a Super Heavyweight. That is the difference in boxing era's, and the standards which the past Heavyweights adhered to etc.
I think Usyk should just be himself, all Heavyweights should and can be themselves 'It is a open class division, and for this reason is the ultimate division in terms of pure competition'.
Note: Possibly the very fact that Usyk can attempt to alter tactics like this, show how the Heavyweight division is very competitive 'There is a larger set up window of performance at Heavyweight'. That is why when Joshua fought Usyk for the second time, I stated that Joshua has experience and evidence which enables him to switch up his game in ways Usyk has never experienced 'Anthony Joshua has fought at 250 pounds, and displayed good endurance and durability vs Kiltschko'. That is a large set up window of performance that if he really wanted to, he could work back towards implementing.
So in comparison to somebody like Wilder, Joshua knows that he can gain almost 8-10 pounds in solid mass 'And he has evidence that at this weight and these dimensions he is still a functional effective fighter'. Anthony Joshua's performance vs Wladimir Kiltschko in many area's is still one of his best ever performances.
Wilder's performance vs Fury 3 was improved from his second fighter. But Wilder functionality as a fighter was not quite optimal, and his endurance seemed not as good 'Still a great effort by Wilder, and he has most likely gained valuable experience in his own abilities of preparation'.

Fight's not happening because Fury is obviously going to win, so we don't need to see it. Fury should also get a 100/0 split, since no man born of his mother could beat him, so why even try. Much better to save everyone the effort and just jump straight to the result: Fury wins by KO - AND also on points, 100 to 0. Rematch and Fury wins instantly, without even entering the ring.Comment

Asked if he thinks Fury is a more difficult fighter than Joshua, Usyk answered in the affirmative.
“Yes, of course,” Usyk said.
This statement is going to make all the Anthony Joshua nuthuggers like juggernaut666 sad. Lol.Comment

Nothing article. First, the fight isn't happening because Fury wants a flat fee that they don't have and no split is good enough, reportedly. Second, Fury isn't in training, once again reportedly. Third, because Usyk here says he would emply a different fight strategy against Fury but the training regime remains the same. He will be at the required weight. This is not saying he's going to pile on pounds.Comment

Any facts they don't like , make them sad . So ' yes, of course' ....it takes all sorts and I admit , sometimes it is amusing and it is also kind of us to hear and listen to their suffering.Asked if he thinks Fury is a more difficult fighter than Joshua, Usyk answered in the affirmative.
