The clauses are uncessary, just a bunch of brouhaha to drum up interest for the fight. Stank KO's Ryan.

Garcia agreed to them, so he must be confident.

There's no such thing as being "weight drained" by an opponent. If you agree to fight at a weight, any weight, there are no excuses.

Don't think you can perform at the weight? Don't agree to fight at that weight.

If Garcia agreed to it, then that's the end of the discussion.

I have zero dog in this fight. You can be sure the responses in this thread is predictable. If the tables were turned, you can be sure the fans of one or the other would flip justifying/defending their idols. It's like clockwork. No independent thinking. Like robots who can't judge what is right or wrong.

Then shouldn't logic follow that you can apply this to the party issuing the stipulations?

There is no "issuing party" in the contract.

Both sides agreed to the purses.

Both sides agreed to a ring size.

Both sides agreed to a rematch.

Both sides agreed to a weigh class and rehydration clause.

Don't be so naive. If one party didn't agree to these bitchass stipulations, guess what? The fight doesn't get made, simple as that. If there was no benefit/detriment to rehydration clauses then fighters would never implement them and force fighters to agree to them in the first place. Don't stick your head in the sand now....

Both sides technically agree, but both sides don't propose.
