Actually in important races like the triple crown races, the horses carry a set weight. 126 for male horses and 121 for fillies. They do this so there is a level field. These races are a competition to determine the best horse. People like that sort of thing.

Debilitating catch-weights and hydration clauses are not about that. They are about gaining an advantage for the more popular fighter. This is a farce not unlike Floyd's 152 demand, Pacquiao's demand of 145 or one of Canelo's advantage gaining catchweight hydration limited fights.

You would think that he be jumping over the opportunity on beating a fighter who has a huge following and is way less experienced.

Then again, he is the type of fighter who starts quite slow to absorb information, so perhaps he fears getting countered like this if he makes a mistake:

Unbelievably fast, devastating check lefthook. Don't know if Nonitos was even that fast. Can't even see it against Fortuna in that clip but he can go up top or feints it up there then goes to body equally well like he did Campbell. Tank is going to become gunshy real quick once Ryan's let's off the first few, good luck on him closing the large gap that will be present between him and Ryan.....

It's weight for age or fillys and colts I guess they think the colts are stronger, I agree they should carry the same weight and some of big stakes races are but for the majority the powers deem if the best horse wins all the time it upsets the betting with impacts the flow on of racing so they handicap the better horses to try and equal the abilities.

The handicap system is alive in kicking in boxing simply because of the money involved and the average fan don't care they just see the winner the finer details don't matter to them.

Have you seen Ryan Garcia lately? He's huge, compared to Tank. The guy's 5'10", with a 70" reach. He also said he wouldn't fight below 140 again. He's filling out. Gervonta for all his skill, is still only 5'51/2" tall, with a 67.5" reach. It's all about size here, and Garcia is skilled enough and strong enough to hurt Davis. He'd be a fool not to try to gain some kind of advantage.

Thats what I said, Davis wouldn't be complaining just as Floyd, Manny or Hopkins would not have complained about the advantages they got in certain fights.

Not sure how the fight will go, just would add that we might see the most disciplined version of Ryan with this being his third bout with Joe Goosen. He is also coming off facing two slick southpaws, so the experience required to make adjustments and ring generalship are there.

Wonder if the public give Gervonta Davis credit if he won, he is not going to face the best version of Garcia while Ryan will while at a disadvantage.

Also Ryan didn't look that much bigger in the press conference, but then again, they were both dressed while Tank was wearing 3-inch sole shoes along with a big ass cap.

So you're backing out because you can't get a piece of paper notarized? I don't trust you, hell, I wouldn't even trust you to go get groceries.

Regardless, contract or not, I'm down for a $500 bet. If you renege after Tank blasts Ryan, I will never let you live it down.
