I dont put much stock into the belts in different divisions thing either. I have also thought about this alot but not in the way you do. You think about it as ATGs but I only think about it as what if we just went back to having one belt in each class. I just dont think its fair to say what if so and so were there because we just dont know. I mean Sweet Pea in an ATG and was a legit champ at WW but he probably is too small for Hearns & SRL but that doesnt mean that he wouldnt have been a legit WW champ
Just imagine if Tommy Hearns and Sugar Ray Leonard were at WW now in their prime

Ray and Hearns would dominate pretty much everyone today. no offense to the guys we have today, theyre quality and I love watching them...but these were just abnormally good fighters.
Hearns really was incredible. if you couldnt touch his chin, he schooled you or KOed you. or both.Comment

none of todays WWs see the final bell against hearns, even roger said floyd wouldnt beat hearns if they fought at 147. floyd and shane might go 12 with leonard, atleast floyd anyways. the mosley who beat DLH the first time gives both ray and tommy one hell of a fight though. but not todays version, watching his last couple of fights i cant see him give them much trouble. im a fan of shane but ppl need to see the margarito fight for what it really is. shane isnt back, and if he fought hearns or leonard, he would be in trouble.Comment

honestly, no offense to Mosley, but I think he wouldve been KOed by Hearns not too far in, even if he was in his prime.
Vernon Forrest all over again, except this is Thomas Hearns were talking about here...when you got hurt against him, you were GONE.
Its honestly amazing the number of highly ranked guys Hearns beat. I would easily rate him above Leonard if it wasnt for his losses.Comment

This isn't even an argument really. Hearns and SRL would be on a level of their own. I don't see a prime Floyd, prime Mosley, or any other prime WW in the last 20 years being much of a challenge to either SRL or Hearns. That's no knock to any of the WW's of the last 20 years, it's just the simple truth.Comment

I like this era of WW but I just don't see Pac or Floyd moving up to face someone like Hearns or Leonard in their prime at WW. And even though Floyd might move up to WW even with them there, I doubt he fights them. It would be funny hearing him get out of fighting them with them not being worthy and all.
I was thinking about this when I was going over some past and recent fighters move up in weight and how timing is everything. Some fighters are lucky they don't have to fight certain fighters on the ATG list in history in those divisions. Like if we were to list all the ATG and put them in a division in fantasy world, how many fighters could continue to move up and beat ATG fighters so they can claim they were legit 2, 3, 4, etc. division Champs?
Imagine just one belt also.
Cotto, big fan but he gets KTFO by Tommy Hearns.Comment

Makavelli is 100% correct. If they brought the most money to the table, Floyd would be all over them. But if they didn't, then he would say they're not* worthy, not bringing anything to the table. not being a PPV attraction.Last edited by Kevin Jesus; 09-26-2009, 07:29 PM.Comment

Today's stock doesn't compare to even what was around 10 years ago.Comment

Well Duran already moved up and beat SRL. Then could Floyd or Pryor move up and beat him? Theyre are so many things that could happened. If Duran left to fight SRL then he wouldve gave up his LW title and someone else wouldve had that. I mean, theyre all great fighters and anything could happenedComment
