Comments Thread For: Luis Alberto Lopez vs. Michael Conlan Eyed, May 27 In Belfast

Michael Conlan is on the verge of fighting for global honors. The featherweight was on the wrong end of a fight of the year contender last year against Leigh Wood when the pair boxed for the WBA 'regular' crown at the weight.

Mismatch. Lopez will crush him. It won't be pretty at all.

Conlan has been somewhat of a disappointment I think. Dude had alot of hype when he first signed with top rank

Hard to believe that Conlan is 31 already. Top Rank did no favors bringing him along so slowly. Last chance here.....but I fear we may have another Luke Campbell situation.

Another privileged euro fighter getting a home title shot after a ko loss.

This is BS this fight should be in the US.

He didn't set the world alight in many of his pre-title shot performances, but he really was excellent for the first eight or so rounds against Wood. Had he come through that and won, he'd be getting far more credit.

Not how it works, and you know this. Far better business sense for it to be in Belfast, it will headline and do really good numbers on its own. In the US it is not a main event fight, Lopez is not a ticket seller. I doubt you'd complain if it was the other way round.

Lmfao. Why the US? Neither fighter is from the US. Random and ******ed comment.
If you want the champ to have a home title shot, it should be in Mexico.

bet you’re the first one to cream your panties when an American fighter actually travels for once. Hahaha

Aside from beating up Brits in the UK Venado has fought mostly in the US and Mexico. USA is the mecca of boxing sorry to let you know, but I agree he will make more money in this case over there.
