Here you go again with the false narratives, EVERYONE that follows boxing, besides you, knows that Haney has been calling for the Loma fight for years, and he was only 20 years old, which says a lot. It wasn't just once or twice, it was in every interview and after every fight. He called it the Nomanchenko campaign, because Loma refused to fight him. He only fought JoJo and Linares because Loma kept saying no and they weren't going to waste time waiting.

You guys have to understand that calling a fighter out is just one step in the process. The financials of the fight also has to make sense for the Promoter fronting the fight especially if there are no investor type money involved. That fight didn't happen then 'cos Arum saw no money in the fight and not becos Loma or ducking or any other narrative been pushed. Loma fights pretty much everybody and if anything, this would be the time to avoid as Haney would seem to have all the advantages now but that isn't in his DNA. Fact is there was an in-house fight (Loma v Lopez) that makes more sense and most would agree was a better fight and more marketable fight than Haney at that time.

I reckon Haney is a lot better and Loma is on the decline but I 'll be very careful been overconfident like Haney is doing 'cos it isn't like Loma has suddenly forgotten how to fight. A once great fighter always have that one special fight when they can put everything together and unlike Lopez, Haney doesn't have the power to keep Loma at bay like Lopez did and the one thing guys like Loma and Tank know how to do exceptionally well is close the distance once they properly assesses the incoming threat. Loma has fought styles like Haney but Haney hasn't fought styles like Loma. Unless Loma's legs are totally shot, this will be a truly interesting fight

The WBC created a mess by creating a "Franchise" belt out of thin air! I didn't have a problem with Loma choosing Lopez over Haney, but he shouldn't have had the title of "Undisputed" when he fought Teofimo Lopez! I wouldn't call Loma a "Duck" for choosing Teofimo Lopez, but I will call Ryan Garcia a "Duck" for avoiding Haney! Haney did what he was supposed to do, and all that talk of him being an "email" or "paper" champ was very disrespectful! It was also disrespectful for Arum to NOT honor Haney's wishes for a fight in March, and NOT May! I hope Haney schools Loma, and I hope Teofimo beats Taylor, so the 2 can fight @ 140 in 2023!

Lomachenko is now irrelevant. The action is at 140. Shakur will collect all the 135 belts after Haney moves up.

Loma's is taking this fight now, because he has no choice if he wants to regain his past prominence after taking the loss to Lopez in the championship fight. Haney is the only holder of the belts in the division, and this is Devin's last fight under Top Rank, the same promoter, Arum, who is extremely loyal to Loma and will make sure that he gets the fight and protects his best interests, like the fight happening in May, which Loma preferred, instead of March, as Devin had asked for. Its not because Vasily just wanted this fight, and its not in his DNA to turn it down. If he doesn't take the fight, Shakur will, and then, its pick your poison.

I'm sure that Tank will have a lot to say about that. I like Shakur, but I don't think he beats Tank, and he hasn't even fought one fight in the division yet for you to say that he's going to win all the belts. Haney and his father have said that they will stay at 135 until the end of the year if the right fights are made.

Loma Age is not the issue. Loma has not had that many fights to age that badly at 36. Other fighters at that age with many more fighs were still sharp. Loma problem now is that he's facing opponents who can match him for size, speed, athleticism and power.
