jack looked too mobile and sharp in there. canelo has slow feet remember. jack is too big for canelo and still has too much left even at his age.

youre on to something I think.... canelo might try to fight him for the cruiser title but he will want to weight drain him. it will be at 182 or some nonsense.

jack probably looked rejuvinated because he didnt have to cut at all, he had a lot of energy and movement in this fight, kind of like cotto when he went up to 154 at first was looking rejuvinated not have to cut as much. happens sometimes.

He looked sharp/mobile against Makabu. I think some perspective is definitely needed. He looked absolutely shot against Rivera.

He lost the fight against Rivera, and he only got the decision because he’s some ambassador for boxing in the Middle East

Makabu just isn’t good. if you can put a few shots together against him, he folds. He’s a bit of a ****house when you stick it on him. I think Tony Bellew was a decent fighter and better than some give him credit for, but if you’re getting knocked unconscious by him in three rounds, it probably says something.

I actually thought Makabu would win because Jack is that shot, but even in the fight thread before the fight i said
Makabu is so easy to hurt that you never know.

Badou Jack at this point would lose to any true world class fighter between LHW and Cruiser. It would be a good cherry pick for Canelo.

Yeah, Jack definitely looked bigger than Makabu. Jack also weighed in heavier and he didn't look soft like I had seen him in his last fight/ fights. I was very surprised at that. I figured Makabu would be the bigger fighter.

Yeah I thought that was a robbery myself mate.

I always say Bellew is one of the luckiest World Champions in history. One, he was only ranked #6 by the WBC when he got a vacant World title shot and two, he got to fight Illunga Makabu for that vacant title who was somehow ranked above Breidis, Usyk etc by the WBC in 2016.

                Was Ringside for that.

I think that's unfair though because at that time Makabu was ranked #1 at Cruiserweight, and was the favourite to win that fight and was considered very dangerous at the time.

Even dropped Bellew heavy and broke his nose.

So I think he deserves full credit for that one.

He will be 40yr old this year. Just the age Canelo wants it.
