like I said, if you’re not born and raised in Mexico, you’re not the same as a Mexican who was. And it’s mainly Mexican Americans who try to compensate for not being real Mexicans that go extra hard in their fandom for canelo. Most real Mexicans are boxing fans first and call bs regardless if it’s one of their own or not. Mexican Americans are more of the blinded by love groupie type.

1. Mexican is not a race so you can take that right out if the equation.
2. Ethnicity includes culture which is primarily shaped by where you live so if you weren’t born and raised in Mexico , you’re not going to have the same experience as someone who did. So you can pretend that Mexicans do a better job than others of holding onto their culture but that’s absolutely not true. Like I said, many have lost touch with their language, culture and are more American than anything, but try to compensate by being groupie fanboys of anything Mexican. Still doesn’t change the fact that they’re not from Mexico. So unless you were born in Mexico, you’re the one who isn’t in a position to say it’s the same as being Mexican American.

True I don’t know much about Caribbean Hispanics but I know a lot about Mexicans n Mexican Americans that’s for sure

Mexicans been in the south west for hundreds of years and their culture for a very long time
