  • Comments Thread For: BBBofC's Robert Smith: Benn Must Prove Innocence To Fight In UK Again

Conor Benn will not be allowed to box in the UK unless he proves his innocence. That is the view of the British Boxing Board of Control's general secretary Robert Smith. Smith joined Simon Jordan and Spencer Oliver on the talkBOXING show and spoke at length about the ongoing situation involving the undefeated welterweight.

I watched that interview. He didn't really still give a proper answer. Bbbofc are scared to death by the promoters and lawyers they'll do as they are told.

He’s fighting June 3rd in the UAE I reckon.

Strange move from a supposedly “innocent” fighter.

Can't believe he hasn't cooperated. And if he's guilty how can he prove he's innocent? Sounded ******.

Case is so simple. Admit guilt and be willing to be suspended for six months or so. Done.

It's annoying just thinking about the situation.

Yup, he was just cornered with he questioning, said what he thought they wanted to hear. He did admit that boxing has no overall governing body so there's little he can do.

Fury didn't have to prove his innocence for example, and he still fights in the UK.

The two failed tests and the way he's conducted himself since only points to guilt. If he fights elsewhere without proving the failed tests were categorically wrong then who ever promotes that or has involvement should be banned for bringing the sport of boxing in to disrepute. When you consider there was two at least two major players who for the money and greed were still trying to push this fight through at the 11th hour , one Eddie Hearn with full knowledge of both failed drugs tests ......de****able !

                Vs Manny Pacquaio?

Have you seen Hearn trying to hype it up? Embarrassing.

Well if decides to move to the US he needs to be aware of the egg shortage, he won't be able to get all his vitamins.

Anyone seen the training footage of him lately? He looks like he lost a ton of muscle mass.

It’s so embarrassing man, do you reckon Pac even knows who Conor Benn is?

I seen his list of “potential opponents” the other day and it was:

Eubank Jr- Middleweight coming off a KO loss.
                    Brook- Retired.
                    Pacquiao- Retired.
                    Tank- Lightweight.

                    Just absolutely laughable man.
