Comments Thread For: Brandon Figueroa: I Really Wanted That Rematch With Fulton, I Feel Like It'll Happen In The Future

Brandon Figueroa was surprised and disappointed when he learned Stephen Fulton Jr. agreed to fight Naoya Inoue next, not him. Figueroa figures that his rematch with Fulton will still happen at some point. Figueroa had hoped, however, to get the opportunity to avenge his lone loss in his next fight.

Shout to "Cool Boy Steph!" The haters were saying he "ran" from 122 because Inoue was moving up! Now he's accepted to fight him IN JAPAN, and on ESPN at that! Next the haters will say he "ran" from Figueroa at 126! Can't satisfy everyone! JUST WIN BABY!

Don't want to take anything from Fulton for taking the fight with Inoue and doing so in Japan, but it's worth mentioning that it would have been ****** financially to do anything else. This is certainly going to be a career high payday, and closer to a super fight than anything else he could take, and to maximize his profits, he's got to do it in Japan so he can bank on Inoue's fans.

He's the bigger guy too, and the champ defending his belts, and he believes in his skills, so this is his shot at making it to the P4P conversations that give him big paydays. He could probably beat MJ and be undisputed and still not get the kind of recognition that he'll get if he beats Inoue, and even better if he shows out. Plus, if he beats Inoue, he should have more leverage to unify anyways.

Still props for making the fight happen, and props to Inoue too for jumping straight into arguably the hardest fight in the division.

Fulton is coming to Japan to tame the Monster. Cool Boy Steph ducks no one, and asks for all the smoke. Inoue is about to lose his 0, but there's no shame in losing to a better boxer.

I agree Fulton will win this one but he should do it convincingly. Fighting in Japan is a great disadvantage in the score cards but not as bad in Australia.

Figueroa should not overlook Magsayo. I see both of them throwing huge punches. This will go the distance. Magsayo for the Upset.

Would not be surprised if it was still next. Since the first rumour of Inoue Fulton not a single further update or source claiming talks

Figgy will overwhelm Magsayo. 90% probability.

Inoue is going to faceplant Fulton hard. You should check the win to loss ratio for Americans travelling. Then when you look at the competition.... This isn't going to end well for him. But i get it. We have to put up with the hot air before reality comes knocking. Hard.

I always feel sorry for Japanese fighters. They are true warriors but they'll get to god status in Japan and then some top foreigner always comes and wipes them out. I'm gonna feel bad for Inoue and Japan after this one too.
