Fights should be listed based on the odds. Matias-Ponce is more one sided so why is that in play? This aint no amateur hour.

I think this should be the first 'joke' fight in the comp - the opponent is a pro-boxer and Jake Paul is super well known - a hundred times more so than some obscure IBF ranked 105 pounder fighting his mandatory shot.
The only good reason not to in my book is maybe the result is rigged ??? .... as JP is the gravy train

Interesting how the rule changes are playing out so far. The scores for most competitors are much more bunched up because multipliers haven't come into effect much. Last time I looked [previous weekend] - those at the top were all there by dint of having successfully employed a x5 or a x3.

All of this means that going forward, because most fights are mismatches to one extent or another, and therefore there's not much chance to employ a multiplier, it becomes more important than ever to get the timing and method of victory right.

I always thought that multipliers were an overly decisive factor in the game. Until last year you may have people in the upper part of the standings (thanks to their clever use of multipliers) who had a lower percentage of correct picks as opposed to others who were not employing them, perhaps forgetting them. I remember Asgarth winning a season only after someone made him notice that he hadn't used the multipliers!

I don't agree with the "most fights are mismatches to one extent or another" bit, though. In essence, what we're doing this year (so it seems to me, at least) is exactly trying to avoid using mismatches. Case in point, I think both bookies and fans in general are underrating Jeremias Ponce's chances against Subriel Matias this Saturday. Matias is a big favorite for good reason (I'll be betting on him almost surely) but Ponce is tough. I don't think that it will be a blowout.

On the other hand, many fights which were thought to be balanced before turn out to be mismatches in the end. So, there you go. Boxing is full of shìt (*), er, surprises

                I agree.

Throw in Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury too. What the heck. I have no idea who is going to win.

Ha ha... hadn't really be looking at the PC much the last few days but yeah, had a brief chat with NC last week discussing what fights to put in this week and I said definitely Ponce vs Subriel, defo Ilunga vs Badou and I'd leave it up to him if he wanted to include the Paul vs Fury fight. I mean fux it - I think it's a joke but the odds are relatively even, it is a legitimate sanctioned fight and it has got significant public attention.. Seems to me the sentiment is pretty much evenly balanced. My personal instinct is to skip it but I really and genuinely don't mind - elite level boxing it ain't but these kids are both going to be going FTW and there's going to be plenty people watching it.

Only thing that remotely intrigues me about Fury v Paul is the fact WBC is saying they will install Paul at #10 on their rankings, should he win. Opinions peeps??

It's only for a top 40 ranking from my understanding.
