This is the current climate in professional boxing, so we can't say we're very confident that any big fight gets made, when we want it.
Comments Thread For: Usyk Promoter Responds to Fury's Demands: This Is Sports; Go to Hollywood If You Want That Kind of Money

The Usyk can't make money outside of Fury narrative simply isn't true. Say Usyk fights Joe Joyce instead in the UK.Do you really think they can't sell that fight to the British public? Usyk vs Bellew attracted a lot of interest in the UK. After two massive fights against AJ, Usyk's profile is even higher and HW is the money division.
Usyk vs Fury is a big fight because it is for undisputed. I'm not convinced Fury vs Joe Schmo would sell as well as Usyk vs Joe Joyce. Also factor in that Fury's baggage takes a US fight off the table, his one belt vs three, and it's hard to see why a split down the middle is supposed to be unfair. 50/50 for undefeated champion vs undefeated champiobn is as fair as it gets.
people are spinning the narrative that Usyk sold more PPV’s than Fury, but they’re failing to acknowledge the fact he was the commercial B-side to Anthony Joshua for those fights …And There’s no facts that they sold more anyway because neither of the broadcasters release their numbers, the only numbers you will get is exaggerations from promoters. Some reports will tell you fury and Whyte did more sales than Joshua and Usyk and sold more tickets in a stadium, so it just depends what sources do you want to believe. We know Eddie exaggerates the PPV numbers, and now the DAZN subscribers. As does Warren. Nobody releases official numbers, so it’s speculation.
anybody who thinks Usyk is a bigger commercial draw than Tyson Fury is living in dreamland, and if the fight is an England, fury deserves the bigger split, even Eddie Hearn said it, because Fury is the one that fills stadiums. Usyk cannot do that without someone like fury or Joshua opposing him.
Fury could fill a stadium fighting Joe Joyce, Ngannou, AJ and many others. Just like he did v Whyte and Chisora
that’s the difference. And whether people like it or not, that’s why Fury’s team feel they are entitled to a bigger split and they probably are. But it’s just annoying for us fans because it’s a hurdle to get overLast edited by deathofaclown; 02-16-2023, 10:32 AM.Comment

So do you think Usyk and Joyce could sell at Wembley Stadium in a single day, 94,000 tickets, the highest ever for a boxing event in Europe, like Fury did against Dillian Whyte? No chance In hell. It would be an o2 arena fight with 18,000 there. So you’re talking nonsense there.

Do I think Usyk and Joyce would sell out Wembley in a day? No. I didn't said it would, did I? I said Usyk vs Joyce would make more money than Fury vs Joe Schmo by which I mean Fury with one of his lame matchups against a nobody like Wallin or Schwarz or Pianeta. Whyte had/has his own commerical draw. The combination of two big name British fighters in Fury vs Whyte resulted in a stadium sell out in Britain. Not surprising. The point I was trying to make is that Usyk vs Joyce would be sufficiently big commercially to offer a viable option other than fighting Fury, though obviously of a lesser magnitude.
And the argument of "Fury is a bigger commercial draw in England, therefore if it's in England Fury should get a bigger cut" is somewhat weak when Usyk is clearly willing to fight anywhere and the side pushing for England seems to be Fury/Warren.
Furthermore, if Usyk's promoter was to go in saying he'd take 60/40, you know Fury and Warren would respond with "it should be 70/30" becaue of all the same tiresome excuses.Comment

That was my point. I was being sarcastic. I disagree that Fury vs Hrgovic would do good numbers. Nobody gives a shlt about that fight and Fury already plssed people off a lot of punters with his joke of a fight against Del boy.Comment

Fury beat Chisora in the last fight.
Usyk fough Joshua.
His purse in the first Joshua fight is not important, he was not a defending champ than, he had no choice.
Usyk is not obligated to take Fury`s demands.

Learn how to multi quote you dumbazz, I can't be bothered replying to 5 separate posts.
It doesn't matter what you think about Fury, he'll go down as a greater fighter than your hero Joshua even if he doesn't fight Usyk.
You'd just better pray to god that Joshua handles that bum Franklin, with AJs biscuit chin you never know what could happen.
You're not going to answer to any point so why does it matter whether i multi quote or not? You'll just deflect and come out with nonsense like you have here with all your emotions. It's not my fault you dedicated yourself for years being a hypocrite and contradicting yourself. It's not my fault you look silly once again. Should find something more useful to do with your time than being a fanatic defending your pathetic little hero.
I'm sure those looking back on history in the future will be raving about the wins over an unskilled bum who hasn't beaten a single world class fighter. The most interesting thing about him will be the fact of how detached from reality he truly is. A bit like you and your hero Fury.
Why don't you give Fury a call and remind him he's a "Fighting man" who'll fight anyone like he always claims and to stop ducking yet another fight and causing problems the way he does whenever he's threatened.
Maybe pick fighters in the future who aren't straight frauds who lie all the time. That way you won't have to embarrass yourself all the time.Last edited by Sid-Knee; 02-16-2023, 09:00 PM.Comment

To be clear that's Fury sells with three periods and then a spelled period. It's a lot of periods.
And just so we are clear: this is a forum for discussion. If you have a view, you need to make a compelling argument. Presenting evidence that supports your argument can help to give weight to your argument.
What you wrote is just a dogmatic expression of opinion.Last edited by Monty Fisto; 02-18-2023, 12:08 PM.Comment

Not in this era, Whyte, Parker, Chissora, Dubois, Ortiz, Ruiz etc are all ranked in the top 10 and would not get past Jarred. I like Joyce but, I'm not sure he would have a chance. Jarred may not be on Usyk's level but he's the only serious fighter remote close. FYI, Even Pulev is top 15..Comment
