Crazy right? And for as little as ggg has accomplished, canelo still needed judges help to escape 2 fights with him without a loss and let a 40 yr old version of ggg outwork him in the championship rounds. Both guys are clearly overrated.

East Harlem? Berlanga’s actually from Brooklyn. As a bonafide Nuyorican, his fan base spreads quite a bit farther than one burrough. He’s no Cotto or Tito for sure, but Puerto Rican contenders generally enjoy the support of all PR fight fans. Not sure if you’ve heard about Puerto Rican boxing fans but they’re kind of into it.

If I asked 100 Nuyoricans, what order would they put the following fighters in, based on popularity: Serrano, Berlanga, Xander Zayas

"My Main Goal is To Land The Canelo Fight"

These folks always have to mention the Mexican superstar's name. They can't do it on their own and chart their own course.

Berlanga Celebrating Multi-Million Dollar Deal, Thanks Eddie Hearn For The “Big Bag”

“Multi-million fight deal. Shout out to Matchroom, shout out to Eddie Hearn, shout out to the lawyers and the whole team,” said Edgar Berlanga on social media, celebrating signing with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing stable.

“Shout out to Eddie Hearn, a f***king legend. Big bag. I’m heading to the bank right now. We about to f**k the game up. How do you like me now? All those haters, stay over there. Don’t come over here. Shout to Eddie Hearn for that bag.

“It’s a different bag. I’m talking about big bag. Different type of money. Eddie the goat. He made it happen with no problem. They didn’t give us no hard time. Shout out to Matchroom, shout out to DAZN. You haters, don’t bust no u-turns.

“Stay over there. Stay on that side. Watch from afar. Don’t hate now. Love. Today is Valentine day. Stop the hating. Don’t hate. Stay humble. The key word for today is love, man.

“Thank you to all my supporters, and my fans that have supported me from day one. I love you guys. We’re about to turn it up. We’re about to really turn this up, man. Eddie Hearn did,” said Berlanga.

Yes, I heard of y'all. I was at MSG in the nosebleeds the night B-Hop flattened Tito. One of the most enjoyable nights of boxing in my life. Berlanga will never be elite. He's basic and relies completely on power. Benavidez and Plant would knock his block off. Y'all used to produce smooth boxers like Sammy Serrano, Wilfred Benitez and Alfredo Escalera. What happened?

I'm actually a BHop fan myself and agree that the Tito win was so satisfying. Also agree entirely about Berlanga's prospects. He doesn't match up well with any of the top tier SMWs, much less Canelo, but I don't think its crazy to imagine that he gets that Canelo shot if Hearn matches him smartly.
