Has Hopkins actually EXECUTED any opponent?

There is a big difference though in execution style. See, Hopkins beat his opponents down in every way. They weren't able to land a single good punch and they got broken down to the body, head, mauled, battered, headbutted. It's different than if you just get plain KO'd.
From a normal KO where you get hit with one shot, you can always come back and tell yourself that you had a bad night and if I was concentrating I could have avoided it. With the Hopkins style execution you can't tell yourself anything. No matter what happened, you lose. Nothing you did could have won you the fight.
You couldn't land a lucky punch, you couldn't outpace him, it was a beat down in which nothing you did could have won you the fight, and that is true execution and it is the most debilitating sort of loss. You realise that no matter how good you fought you couldn't have won, whereas if you were just hit with one punch, you might still have won, you might have even been winning. With Jackson, he was often getting outboxed. In a rematch, you can just outbox him again and make sure you avoid his big shot, but with Hopkins what's different in a rematch? Nothing. That's a boxing execution.
Not that necessarily agree that he did it to many guys but he certainly did it to 'Tito'.Last edited by BennyST; 09-25-2009, 09:49 PM.Comment

He def executed Trinidad and Johnson, mentally.
Jones
Taylor
De La Hoya
Tarver
Winky Wright
Calzaghe
Were all alright after the Hopkins fight.
We have yet to see if Pavlik's loss to Hopkins really messed him up in the long run.
I don't think Hopkins can "Execute" a natural top LHW. I can see Hopkins ruining Cloud, and Adamek though. Pascal and Dawson would put up a good fight against Hopkins.Comment
