Comments Thread For: Hrgovic-Ruiz: Purse Bid Ordered, Contradicting IBF Rules For Interim Title Fights

The previously ordered Filip Hrgovic-Andy Ruiz interim title fight will now head to a purse bid. BoxingScene.com has confirmed that the 30-day period assigned to the Hrgovic-Ruiz interim IBF heavyweight title fight has concluded without the two sides reaching a deal. The sanctioning body notified all registered promoters that the ordered contest is now the subject of a February 28 purse bid hearing.

Ever notice with all these alphabets - it’s the same felons in charge for like the past 30 years. And if they drop dead, their kids become the new mafia Don

Why does the article say a fight vs Helenous? I thought the mini tournament was supposed to be vs Wilder?

Filip shouldn't be forced to fight Ruiz for the interim belt. He already won his shot. He can take a less risky fight to stay busy while the Fury-Usik thing gets sorted out.

Doesn't matter. No way ruiz fights anyone that's not wilder next

This is a good scrap, though obviously this is nowhere near as great as Ruiz vs Wilder.

Mike Coppinger says wilder may be leaving pbc due to the money offered for ruiz

Could someone explain why IBF rules do not include purse bids for certain types of fights? What's the logic in that?

As interesting as this fight seems, thought Ruiz was going at it with Wilder. Hrgovic won an eliminator if I'm correct so why is this purse bid even scheduled? These organization be bending their own rules to much.
