He looked the same physically, talked normally, and gave off the sort of confidence that fans had grown accustomed to. However, as Vasiliy Lomachenko walked through those pugilistic ropes to take on Jamaine Ortiz, Shakur Stevenson instantly knew that something was off.

Yeah I also thought it was evident Loma was a faded force vs Ortiz. I just don’t see how he closes the gap against the size/length of Haney. Would have much preferred to see Stevenson vs Haney presuming this is Haney’s last fight at 135.

I kind of feel the same way unless Lomachenko has some kind of reserve that I’m unfamiliar with.

everything after the shoulder injury has been a downhill trajectory...Still, I'm not writing him off against Haney yet and still hoping for a Davis fight but his shine has certainly dimmed.

Loma is going to have to take this ass whooping he's been running from for years.

If a bigger guy with a great jab and great footwork, doesn't want you to close the distance... you most likely won't.
Combined with the solid defense and clinchwork of Haney, it is going to be tough for Lomachenko. He is going to take damage trying to get in and also will have to spend a LOT of energy.

Haney is unhappy with the possible date for the Lomachenko fight
              December 13, 2022

The undisputed lightweight boxing champion of the world believes that promoters want to trick him.

Undisputed world lightweight champion Devin Haney has expressed his displeasure over a possible date for a fight with former world champion in three weight categories Vasyl Lomachenko. The American believes that the promoters want to deceive him and create an additional advantage for the Ukrainian boxer.

“These guys are trying to push my next fight against Loma to May. They know the longer I stay in the lightweight division, the harder it is for me to make weight. Let’s do this **** in March!

I literally told Top Rank that I want to fight before Ramadan.

It’s not about fighting with other people. The point is to give me the date of the match. They want their fighter, Loma, to get another chance,” Haney wrote jitters.

It will be remembered that former famous promoter Bob Arum said when the fight between Lomachenko and Haney could take place.

Sad that the Undisputed Champ asks for a date in March, and now it's looking like MAYBE May 20th? First he had to go to Australia TWICE, now he couldn't get the date he wanted! They treat Haney like a step-child! Meanwhile...

Top Rank planning Josh Taylor-Teofimo Lopez junior welterweight fight, sources say

              ESPN

Top Rank is planning a Josh Taylor-Teofimo Lopez junior welterweight title fight this summer in the U.K., sources told ESPN, but no deal has been struck yet. The 140-pound fight, if it's finalized, is expected to take place in May or June, sources said, and there do not appear to be any major obstacles to a deal...

Loma is the underdog now--we will see how he performs vs Haney who is slick and defense-minded. Big upset coming?

Shakur Stevenson has a very high boxing IQ. He's usually spot on. He's spot on with regards to Loma.
