Comments Thread For: 'Mexican Monster' David Benavidez Says He Wants To Be Country's Next Great Fighter

Same. This is how I imagine it. Benavidez will apply lots of pressure and win the early rounds. He will likely get Plant in trouble early, but I see Plant weathering the storm, surging late and maybe even stopping Benavidez late. I suppose that sounds crazy to a lot of people, but Plant is right when he says that David's previous opponents weren't in the same universe as him. David is feeding off his own hype a bit too much these days and I think that overconfidence is going to be his undoing.
So what's the difference.

Again you must not know many Mexicans.Comment

I do realize that, but Caleb and his fans aren't outright dismissing Benavidez. The Benavidez, not the Plant hype, needs to be checked a bit.Comment

Yes its crazy because its the direct opposite of what has been demonstrated in reality. Plant never surges late, he does the opposite he gasses out and slows down, while David wears down his opponents. I guess it must feel nice to just live in an alternate reality but you are confusing what you wish and what is reality.
I really think Plant is barely better than the likes of Ellis, Davis and Dirrell tbh. He is a little sharper but the same level of fighter basically. David is in a another league and you will soon see.Comment

Well, Sal's hairdo was actually a perm while David's has naturally curly hair, just wanted to point that out.

Exactly Sanchez had to get work done to achieve his look, Benavidez on the other hand has to use one of these customized straighteners every morning just to matt his stuff out.
