Coke clears your system in like 8 hours if you're not a habitual user. So for him to test dirty tells me he was either on a binge or he does that shlt regularly. It's surprising he's actually succeeded as much as he has being a coke head. I've seen him at fights trying to dodge the cameras and interviews only to be caught off guard by a reporter and he's coked tf out during interviews.
If I had to guess, I think he's completely clean now and real serious about getting the Canelo fight but once he makes his first real big payday he might celebrate a little too much and end up getting hooked back on that shlt. It's soooo easy to fall back in that cycle, especially if you have money and have done it heavy in the past.Comment

He is not going to get the same reputation that ATG Mexicans have. You never hear Mexicans rooting or favoring fighters like Bobby Chacon, Chico Corrales, Oscar De La Hoya, Danny Lopez, Michael Carbajal, Orlando Canizales, Johnny Tapia and Genaro Hernandez over native born fighters.
Jose Luis Castillo vs Chico Corrales X2
Oscar De La Hoya vs Julio Cesar Chavez
Salvador Sanchez vs Danny Lopez
Michael Carbajal vs Humberto Gonzalez
Johnny Tapia vs Marco Antonio Barrera
Genaro Hernandez vs Jorge Paez
Bobby Chacon vs Ruben Olivares
If David Benavidez vs Canelo Alvarez were to happen it will be no different, the fanbase is going to side with Canelo.
Heck, most likely won't recognize someone as great as Roberto Duran, whose father is a Mexican American.

That’s not what they call themselves. That’s what this racist country has labeled them for literally centuries. They’re actually just Americans. Of course today they go with the label that was given to them. It was literally white people who started that label.Comment

Born and raised in USA though.
He should represent the country that clearly gave his family a better quality of life for them to wanna leave Mexico
Plus he is half Dominican
Good tactic though, trying to pass off yourself as Mexican, they’re probably the biggest market in boxing in USA when it comes to buying fights and supporting a specific fighter.Last edited by deathofaclown; 02-10-2023, 04:05 AM.Comment

Benavidez is the real deal, but dude is American of Mexican descent(also part Ecuadorian if I'm correct) The fact that people rode with Tyson giving him that name is really odd. Can't knock him for trying to get the true Mexican following that Canelo has. More money in his pockets if he can somehow gain the love and respect of the Mexican contigent.Comment

Fact's! He should also get rid of that stinking attitude that's only gotten worse as of late. Now even his dad has gotten into talking that ****** street crap.
They've learned nothing from the oldest son's being shot in the leg, which ruined Jose's career, who was undefeated at the time of the shooting.Comment

I don't remember Duran ever talking about his Mexican heritage, he always touted his Panamanian root's which he was very proud of.
Panama also worshiped their "Manos de Piedra", one of the all time great's of boxing, and quite possibly the greatest lightweight champion of all time.Comment

The dude is from PHOENIX.
Can we ditch the phony shtick about being Mexican?
I have no respect for people who want all the fantastic benefits of being an American, but then express loyalty to another country. Imagine a Mexican fighter calling himself American!
Benavidez should renounce his American citizenship and move down there, and good riddance to another coke addict.Last edited by Bro. Steve; 02-10-2023, 06:57 AM.Comment
