GGG and Canelo refused, and Eddie allowed it, and fed Andrade anyone that Hearn could get paid on both sides from. Clearly both guys were ducked and it was swept under the rug, as usual when its done by fan favorites.
So it's either Canelo/GGG or nothing. Got it.

Nope, it was about unifying the division. Why are they allowed to refuse to fight the other champions for unification? Unifying trumps mandatory fights, but GGG and Canelo always got around that by simply refusing. Charlo fought mandatory fights and whoever ranked that he could, Doo Doo fought whoever Eddie gave him because he wouldn't give him GGG or Cinnabon. Hearn just made it up to him by overpaying him to fight lesser competition.

It was never about unifying with them, that's why they never even did it at 154, long before GGG had anything to do with them. They've had a longer history with Canelo but at what point do you say **** it, and fight the other guy whom the big names are supposedly ducking as well? Answer: they won't; they'll continue to sit on the sidelines and wait for either Canelo or GGG (who doesn't have much time left in the sport anyway), and continue to avoid not only each other, but anyone else worthwhile. And with Andrade in particular, can you honestly go into negotiations with him, in good faith, and expect things to go smoothly? He says he wants names but his track record says otherwise.

I'll just agree to disagree, Charlo fought his mandatory fights and ranked opponents, he didn't want the Doo Doo fight because Andrade backed out and vacated instead of fighting Jermell at 154 when he thought he was the bigger name. Jermall wanted and asked for GGG and Canelo, and Doo Doo did the same, except that Andrade was actually promised those fights when he signed with Hearn and DAZN. I don't call that avoiding anyone else, especially Charlo, he was never given credit for his wins against his mandatory opponents and ranked fighters the same way people give Cinnabon and GGG credit for Fielding, Yildirim, Rolls, and Szeremeta.

Not many people gave Canelo or GGG credit for those fights. Most people shat on them, and rightfully so. Either way, looks like both of them are content to not fight anyone meaningful if they can't get either Canelo and Golovkin.
