The context is: why Franklin out of the shortlist of Demsey McKean, Franklin and Wallin? The answer is the one Hearn gave.

If they wanted another crack at Usyk, then fighting another lefty should be scheduled, I agree. Do you think they want another crack at Usyk?

Re: They are looking for a semi credible opponent that he can beat. Yes. Absolutely. Isn't this trivially obvious? Should he have sought an opponent with no credibility that he thought he might lose to?

It's plain what it is. A rebuild fight. It's against a pretty crappy opponent. That's what it is.

AJ lost to Usyk but did not get blown out. He is at a high level and should have no need to rebuild sort of speak. Unless he is mentally weak and needs to get on winning ways is the only way I can see it.

Usyk isn’t fighting Joshua next so that’s irrelevant. If Fury doesn’t run away then you’ll see 2 fights with Usyk . Usyk vs Joshua would only happen in 2024 at best if they both don’t take a loss . Fighting a southpaw isn’t preparing them for anything next because , Whyte and Whyte are on their minds . If not you got Hrgovic and some of those guys . Unless he was fighting Wilder or Fury next you know the haters will say they aren’t credible opponents but you know this already ,only Fury and Wilder get to fight Chisora and Helenius . Lol

The thing with Whyte is, he’s always got that puncher’s chance. Joshua could and probably would outclass Whyte but then could still get caught with a bomb. Still possible with Franklin, he’s still a HW, but he’s not bringing that same one punch, lights out power.

Tyson Fury would beat Franklin without dropping a single round 'But I don't think he would stop him'.

Fury was not going to stop Chisora without ether his corner or referee intervening.

If Joshua beats Franklin, and stops him without dropping a round inside 7-9 rounds 'That is a top performance'.

Franklin skill for skill is right there for Joshua. He has been selected, because he is a game fighter and aggressive 'But he is right there to be beaten up'.

Could team Joshua have selected a higher level opponent? Yes.

But coming off the back of two loses, this is not a terrible fight. Outside of all the super elite fighters, Franklin has already proven that he is a solid enough fighter.

Parker, Dubios, Chisora, Wallin, Hrgovic, Zhang, Joyce, Wilder how many of these fighters beats Franklin without dropping a round? How many of these fighters blast him out?

Maybe only Joe Joyce is the only one of those fighters there, who beats Franklin without dropping around 'Joyce would also stop him inside the distance'.

Wilder, Ruiz Junior, Joyce, these are the only fighters outside the Champions in the division who beat Franklin impressively.

From a pure boxing perspective, this is not a terrible fight. But boxing is show business, and I honestly think better fights could of been made.

Anthony Joshua could of went straight into the rematch with Whyte 'And I think Joshua has the form, to beat Whyte without dropping a single round'.

Joshua has the ability to beat Whyte, more impressively than Fury 'Fury's performance vs Whyte for me was overrated'.

Fury was doing nothing up until the knock-out, and Whyte was in the fight. If Fury would of continued fighting Whyte the way he was without achieving a knock out 'It would of been rated as a under par performance'.

Mostly agreed with what you said except that last part. I didn't think Whyte came close to winning any rounds. I don't see how he was ever in the fight at all, he looked like a a rank amateur, worse than I had feared.

                  The KO was a mercy.

                      He's incredibly mentally weak.

And he won probably 6 of 24 rounds. That's getting blown out.
