My fundemental love of boxing is grounded in fighting techniques; how they move, how they time their shots, how they avoid getting hit etc.

Then comes the drama, the wars, the slugfeasts.

With a technical fighter like Floyd, there is always more to learn, understand and study about his style.
A war is exciting, and is the magic that happens every now and again.
This is the best answer in the thread and it took 40 pages for someone to put it like this.

The bold is the best way to look at it IMO.

Oct 9th- Chris should be there. Henry has a young fighter, Jonathan Arellano, who is fighting that night

Doubletree in Ontario. Might be a big commute from the 818 though

you going to Vazquez fight at Nokia?

            Clottey, Margacheato, Mosely, Quintana, Judah.

It's not even remotely comparable. I mean it is bordering on a joke -even putting Mayweather top 10 P4P if he won't fight anyone decent enough to even give him a remote challenge. The guy is a cherry picker - plain and simple.

You think Mayweather would have fought someone as good, low reward and as dagerous as Clottey if he was in Miguel's position?

            LMFAO NO.

In fact, if Mayweather fought Clottey today it would be the best opponent he has ever fought (by far).

But he's NOT in Miguel's position hot shot! Have you forgot how the boxing game works? Once you are an ELITE fighter you only fight OTHER ELITE fighters. Why on earth would you even mention Joshua Clottey vs Mayweather? I mean Clottey has lost to Margarito and Baldomir oh and Cotto. An elite fighter he is not. WHY do people continue to act as if Mayweather is any different from any past ELITE fighter who was in their primes, at the top of the P4P list who didnt only fight other ELITE fighters?

Mayweather is a Cherry Picker? DO you not recall Cotto wanting to fight Oscar after Mayweather beat DLH? Arum knows he has to get Cottos stock up after that Margarito fight, why do you think he is letting him face Pac? If Pac loses oh well Cotto was Bigger...Manny is still a hero and warrior and can have a trilogy with Marquez and still fight Mayweather in the future (which would IMO make the fight THAT much bigger adding to the story of Manny trying to Knock floyd off his throne and reclaim the P4P title...) . But really this is a game of numbers and PPV sells and people cant hate on Mayweather being the man....If Cotto beats Pac everyone knows that he and Mayweather will fight! SO stop posting like a and be a REAL boxing fan.

oh and read this article from December 2007 a week after Mayweather beat Hatton speaking on fighting Miguel Cotto in the FUTURE and it being about BOXING SENSE "Making the fight when they can generate the most revenue" ie Keep winning and we will clash!

Wait so every boxer, boxing expert, writer, analyst, reporter, trainer, & promoter have been wrong for the past few years rating Mayweather as the P4P best fighter in the sport? All of the titles he won have been vs chumps and fake title holders? He hasnt masterfully dominated 40 fighters all while making it look effortless? Come on man the guy has won world titles from 130-154 and beat the best champs who had the belts at those times. The guy retires to rest his body after fighting over 10 years and having 39 fights and he is ducking fighters? So every fighter who retires or takes a lay off is ducking every other fighter who is active in his division?

You got it all twisted. I know Mayweather is a great fighter. I just have a problem with someone telling me Im not a true boxing fan because I dont enjoy it when Money May bores me to death. Especially when in against hand picked opposition. Gayweather makes Roy Jones look like Evil Kneivil.

It has become every so apparent to me that the lines have been draw in the sand when it comes to Floyd Mayweather Jr.

On One Side you have the BOXING Fans. Who Praise Him as the one of the Pound 4 Pound best they ever seen, and an all time Legend. I am talking about true boxing fans, those who love the art of boxing and appreciate the skill, discipline and dedication it takes to be truly great in the sport.

On the other side you have the FIGHT fans, those who question Mayweather status as a great fighter and Criticize he fight style as “BORING” “LACKING DRAMA” AND “DOESN’T TAKE RISK”. In simpler terms, the fans that love blood and guts warriors, and who praise raw aggression over season skill, and risk taking over discipline.

So here is the question If you to rank them 1 and 2 which is first and which is second and why?

                    BOXING FAN
                    FIGHT FAN

                    Horus: Boxing Fan

                    My argument
                    Is BOXING IS AN ARTFORM...
Floyd Mayweather jr. has mastered the ARTFORM of boxing
Just look at the compubox numbers!!! He is a plus 32

Why bleed and cut it you don't have too?
I don't blame Floyd for not wanting to be punch drunk.
I don’t want to see him in there just swinging crazy wild ass punches.
That’s not what I expect from or want to see from Floyd, as so called “boxing fans” shouldn’t either.

Could you imagine someone like MIchael Jordan dumbing down his skill level to make a basketball game closer so people can see a more competitive game?

Or Jerry Rice purposely dropping passes so football fans can see how he struggles under pressure.

Allot of "so-called" boxing fans but really are just "FIGHT FANS" are always trying to force Floyd and other fighters that practice the sweet science to abandon their defense and put there chin in the air for there enjoyment.

FLOYD is boxing at its purist form.
So the excitement you should get is not Wanting Floyd to change his game up...

But wanting to see if anybody will take the risk like Castillo did in order to beat Floyd.....

Floyd shouldn’t have to change his style to accommodate FIGHT FANS like SOME OFyou.

BOXING FANS love his style just the way it is...

This bump is inspired by listening to somebody complaining about Floyd' Style.

                      qft

Horus, Jordan may be a great player but why the **** would care about him if he's playing YMCA pick up ball

It's more the fact that he isn't using his artform against anyone who matters then turns around and proclaims his greatness. It's not about his style it's about him not being willing to use it against the best aka his absence of testicles
