What I don't like is his trainer, not because he's bad, but because he's too conservative.
I didn't say he needed to beat his next 8 opponent's to face Berlanga now. Clearly Morrell can face Berlanga, and anyone else for that matter in the 168 pound division. Now what I did say was that (if Morrell, beat's his next 8 opponent's like he beat his first 8, then Berlanga wouldn't stand a chance against him).

Him fighting Morrell Jr. would be a career suicide.

But they've been working with Bob for years and it's a bad sign when they let a fighter go.
Although they probably jumped the gun when they let Adames go recently, and to a lesser extent Elvis Rodriguez, after just one loss.
Pretty damn sure the Bobfather has the last say
Stepson or not , pretty sure it was a whole company decision

I missed to elaborate on that. My bad, what I'm trying to say is, he ain't got no chance now, he does not need to face another eight boxers to beat edgar, actually berlanga could be the first of the next eight boxers.

You might be right, I'm not going to argue that point because Berlanga has got to get cracking, especially after 8 month's of inactivity.
I suspect that whoever he sign's with as his new promoter, they won't take such a dangerous fight any time soon.
I believe that he's going to wind up signing with Eddie Hearn, in order to have the best chance of getting a shot at the big money fight against Canelo.

They better give him his one last paycheck. Yeah, it sucks losing once in this sport. You lose and your next fight might come 2 years later. That's how it is.

Whoever he decides to sign with needs to protect there investment by putting him with a trainer that can sharpen the tools he already has, while introducing him to the technical skills that he is deficient in. They should bring in a team that offers the best sparring partners available, while caring and pushing him on the aspect of development. He must feel that they are confident in him, but also pulling him up to the level he desires to be successful.

Did Al Haymon send an offer to Berlanga? How about Eddie Hearn?
