this is the second time recently I've seen a question about whether Beterbiev is the a top10 all-time light heavyweight. Doesn't it seem like you would have to at least beat a HOF level fighter to be considered? We don't even know if he beats Bivol. People from this era get too carried away with "the eyeball test." Look at his wins. Which of his opponents would trouble any great Light Heavyweight? I like Beterbiev, but let's not get carried away.

Lot of old black and white fights used to be on ABC (American Broadcast Company)

I watch them on youtube. Love when they keep the old commercials in.

and only 4 or 5 channels to choose from lol. I lived it. We spent a lot of time outdoors. It actually beats playing video games all day and staring at your phone IMO

Love Bread's analysis & he is so right on Beterbiev. He almost never gets dragged into close quarter brawling, he seldom is out-classed at range. His feet are always taking him to that perfect distance to punish his opponent at arms-length. His judgement of distance must be as good as any boxer in the world, allowing that Floyd is retired &, IMO, judgement of distance is as important as having a good jab, or fast feet, or defensive skills, but you seldom hear it talked about.

I’m not a race baiter but I can only imagine if he had the same record, work ethic, etc and was white he woulda been the biggest athlete of all time in any sport. Weird.
"I'm not going to race bait but now let me immediately race bait and put a little extra troll explanation point at the end." Yeah, we know what "weird" is supposed to mean.

Biggest athlete of all time in any sport.... you mean like Tiger Words and Michael Jordan? The truth is if Floyd was white and acted like he acted and pulled the things he pulled, he would have been disowned by 90% of white people. More popular, na how about much less? He would have lost much of his black fanbase and gotten very few white fans too. See Caleb Plant for a close modern comp. Not even a PPV fighter normally.

He thinks Spinks beats Beterbiev? It would be 1 round beat down imo. Beterbiev batters him however long it last, and it would certainly not be 12 rounds. Nash out

lol , I remember our first color TV was a B/W tv that my dad stuck 3 layers of coloured cellophane on the screen. blue up top for the sky, green in the middle and red on the bottom lol, I can actually remember when we had no TV and people sat around the radio, you boys take for granted whats there today, thing is we are destroying the planet by supplying it.

LMAO. like Babe Ruth, Brett Favre, Jon Daly, and all the other "asshxle" White athletes who've always had a big fanbase?

You are right though, he would be hated by Black folks if he was White, but White folks would somehow overlook his asshxlish behavior like they do for lots of White athletes who were drunks or woman beaters or drug addicts or just good old fashioned idiots.

He wouldn't be the biggest athlete of all-time, though.

Boxing would be more popular if it had a White American who was dominating it, however.

Caleb Plant's not really dominant enough to get White people to care about boxing. Plus, he seems to feel more of a connection to the Black community than the White one in a lot of ways.

I do get sick of the Mayweather groupies and their constant need for Floyd to be constantly worshiped without any criticism, whatsoever.

                    That shxt gets annoying.

He was an all-time great defensive fighter, the best of his generation, who is probably solidly a top 20 or so fighter of all-time, Great he retired with a perfect record. Some would argue that shouldn't be the case. and definitely wouldn't be the case in a better era in boxing where everybody fought everybody.

Let him go and fight his exhibitions with Japanese midgets, please.
