Perhaps Benevidez wasn't acting. Perhaps in reality, he is a douche. Regardless, Plant seems to always bring out the worst in his foes during the hype period and build-up to a fight. For this one, mission complete. BOTH Benevidez and Plant are balls-to-the-wall top-flight 168lb talent. I expect a great fight. Hopefully this time, Benevidez keeps his pants up and there are no more, less-than-professional mitigating factors affecting his commision (should he earn one), before, after or on the scale.

I hate to say it, but I do too! Benavidez Sr., and Jr., really came off looking like scumbag's. Why did the father get into the trash talking also, they reminded me of the Lopez's, Garcia's, Guerrero's, and to a lesser extent the Haney's. These father's at some point are going to get their son's hurt, or worse (in or out of the ring).

The Benavidez team was just embarrassing at that press conference. No class at all. Why all the foul language? Is that really necessary? ....and David READING his comments from a pre-written script on his phone? What a joke!! Did he put all the bad words into his script also? Did he practice that in front of a mirror once or twice? LOL That was the most ridiculous thing I have seen in quite a while. Caleb Plant was like..... really?!?! So embarrassing for Benavidez, in hindsight. Plant is highly skilled and very determined. I still have him as a slight underdog here.... but he can absolutely win this fight. Looking forward to it. Go Plant!

Plant is trying to get David mad, with his jabs about making weight and *******. And it might work. But will that anger translate into David making mistakes in the ring, like trying too hard for the KO, not cutting off the ring, not relaxing, getting gassed, over committing, swinging wildly, not using his jab, etc? I doubt it. Benavidez will be in tremendous condition and I think he'll use his anger in a controlled way. This is going to be a very good fight, Boxing in 2023 needs a lot more fights like this, with top level guys facing eachother, and less mismatches

The Benavides brought some crap up and then got served by Plant. Appropriate comments since the other side was trash talking. It is fair game and they want to sell the fight so they has to be some sort of drama. Benavides thinks he is coming to a walk in the park but this won't go as easy as they think.
