In fairness Alicia you might want to be a bit more humble, most boxing purists gave it to Michaela so maybe tone it down a bit. Yes yes I know plenty of the work shy street boys on boxing scene thought you won but unfortunately Alicia they are coloured bias. Michaela beats you again in any rematch.

Why do people always have to bring race into sports. Sure there are racist boxing fans out there but given even the most ardent racists in the early 1900s could admit that Jack Johnson was the best heavyweight in the world in his prime and boxing was the first pro sport to allow non-whites to compete at the highest level, the large majority of boxing purists today, as you mention, only care about the ring performance regardless of race. Is it that hard to believe that there are unbias boxing fans and experts alike who thought Baumgardner won a close fight? I thought Baumgardner edged it but it could've went either way. I couldn't care less about skin color. I don't have a dog in the race nor to I have anything to gain personally or financially from one fighter or the other winning. The only people who thought this was a controversial decision would have to be bias or hardcore Mayer fans themselves.

I'm a Mayer fan, and I thought there was a perfectly good argument for Baumgardner taking it, since she outstruck Mayer in all the relevant metrics, and landed the more damaging shots. Mayer only landed more jabs, that's it. The simple fact is that Mayer needed to recognize that it was a close fight, but she never got out of second gear and turned it up. Neither one of them really did enough to separate herself from the other, which is disappointing on a fight at that level, but since it was a close fight, a split makes sense, and frankly, Alycia deserved it a little more. We'll see in Mayer's next fight if she's learned how to turn it up. If not, I wouldn't be surprised if Baumgardner has her number every time.

Would love to see Baumgardner KOd--such a big mouth. The perverts like her though.

I have a weird attraction towards her like I did towards Vasquez in Aliens. Don’t think it warps my judgement though, which is usually solid. I think she would KO Mayer in a rematch because Mayer learned something that will mislead her as to how she should fight. Mayer learned that when she steps on the gas, that she takes over. She will do that too early in the rematch and get KTFO. That’s my prediction.
