Is there an argument Usyk has a better top 5 wins than Canelo?

A friend of mine said this to me today and my instant reaction was no way but when I sat back and analysed it, I do think he has a point. I’m not talking full resume, just the top 5 wins. Here’s what I think they are with some additional info:

**Quick Disclaimer** No crying from fanboys please, I know Canelo has a lot of them, Usyk probably has a few too, it’s just an argument- I’m not saying it’s definitive so save your tears.

    Usyk:

    1. Anthony Joshua, 31 years old, 24-1, Unified Heavyweight Champion.
Clear decision win despite being a considerable underdog, being on the road in the UK and being at a significant size disadvantage.

    2. Murat Gassiev, 24 years old, 26-0, Unified Cruiserweight Champion.
Dominant decision win, on the road in Russia, was viewed as a 50/50 fight by oddsmakers although I felt Usyk was a clear favourite personally.

    3. Anthony Joshua, 32 years old, 24-2, Former HW Champion.
Clear decision win, in Saudi Arabia, I know some smart ass is gonna bring up the idiot judge who scored the fight for Joshua but this fight wasn’t close, Usyk clearly won.

    4. Mairis Briedis, 33 years old, 23-0, Cruiserweight Champion.
Close decision win, on the road in Latvia.

    5. Krzysztof Glowacki, 30 years old, 26-0, Cruiserweight Champion.
Clear decision win, on the road in Poland.

Other wins that could be considered top 5: Bellew, Huck, Hunter

    Canelo:

    1. Gennady Golovkin, 36 years old, 38-0-1, Unified Middleweight Champion.
Close and highly controversial decision win, in Las Vegas, I personally scored the fight 115-113 to Golovkin. Canelo entered the fight as a slight underdog with oddsmakers.

    2. Erislandy Lara, 31 years old, 19-1-2, Future Light Middleweight Champion. (Regular titles don’t count.)
Close and highly controversial decision win, in Las Vegas. I personally scored the fight 116-112 to Canelo. I didn’t see the controversy tbh, I felt Lara was on his bike from round 4 onwards.

    3. Sergey Kovalev, 36 years old, 34-3-1, Light Heavyweight Champion.
Emphatic KO win in a close and competitive fight, in Las Vegas, despite being at a considerable size disadvantage.

    4. Miguel Cotto, 35 years old, 40-4, Middleweight Champion.
Clear decision win, in Las Vegas.

    5. Daniel Jacobs, 32 years old, 35-2, Middleweight Champion.
Close decision win, in Las Vegas, I personally don’t think it was controversial whatsoever despite some people suggesting it was.

Other wins that could be considered top 5: Smith, Saunders, Plant, Trout.

Moving up to beat Joshua in his backyard is a better win than anything on Cáñelos resume and I’m a huge Canelo fan.

    shouldn’t even be debatable.

Canelo's bum opponents in Guadalajara were more skilled than bodybuilder lol. What a joke thread.

        I’d say so.

        it’s arguable.

The most of Canelo`s best wins are controversial.

Best 5 then probably yeah especially with the 2 AJ wins and with a lot of his fights being in the opponents backyard

theres nothing to argue about, his resume is much better than canelos and ive never seen him embarrassed in the ring or needing to rob someone to get a win

Breidiss is his 2nd best win.

Murat is not very good. Breidiss knocked out a heavyweight champ at heavyweight named Charr

Usyk's been the underdog more than Canelo has imo. Canelo was the UD against Mayweather and for some against GGG the first time but Usyk was a UD against AJ twice basically. Many people predicted AJ would take him in the rematch and he did do better although still not quite good enough. Someone said that Usyk was UD against Gassiev as well, although I'm not sure about that one. Either way, he always fights in the other guy's backyard.
