Yarde's "sizzled" muscles cost him the win.
Some people just can't resist preferring aesthetics over performance.

But let's not hyperventilate. He still lost to a 38 yo guy.

funny how **** works canelo gets no credit from the haters for beating kova "kova old don't count" yet kova whoops Yarde.

Now that butternut goes life n death with yarde "oh yea yarde a beast Betterbieve is great"

lol cant make this BS up.
Yarde travelled to Kovalev's back yard, had a competitive fight, and lost through insufficient conditioning and experience. He emptied the tank trying to get the KO, and it ended up the other way around. No excuses, he was found wanting, but did show enough to suggest he belonged at that level.

Now he came up short again against Beterbiev who, despite his age, is still clearly a destructive and skilled fighter that no one has been able to go the distance with. Yarde's performance showed improvements than we saw against Kovalev. He lost but it was a great fight. Both get some measure of credit for this.

Canelo had the champion Kovalev come to his back yard to fight about 10 weeks after his 11-round fight against Yarde. No recovery time. Back-to-back training camps. This can't be dismissed. Combined with Kovalev's age, this raised some eyebrows. In the fight, Kovalev seemed to have no problem hitting Canelo with his jab, but there was evidently no snap on his punches, either by choice or necessity. Canelo eventually folded him in the eleventh. Kovalev showed little punch resistance, either through choice or necessity. Observers noted that the back-to-back training camps seemed to have taken something out of Kovalev. Kovalev himself confirmed the back-to-back training camps were gruelling and he thought it game him little chance of winning, but he couldn't say no to the money.

Most people accept that Beterbiev hits harder than Bivol and is just as tough. Canelo couldn't hurt Bivol. Yarde hurt Beterbiev. Canelo has never attempted to chase a Beterbiev fight. Make of that what you will.

There's always some clown in the comments bringing CinnaB---h into a conversation he doesn't belong in. This article was about real fighters in real fights fighting real competition.

        CinnaClenJuice is fraudulent.

Cinnabon definitely didn't ragdoll Kovalev, Ginger was losing every round, and Kovalev was only hitting him with light punches without the slightest bit of conviction. I damn near thought Kovalev took a dive because he was thoroughly outboxing Cinnabon the entire fight, but without trying to hurt him, and then he gets hit by 2 or 3 punches in the 11th round and goes down, AND can't continue. That fight was a farce, Canelo wasn't and isn't a 1 or 2 punch KO type of fighter, even in the lower weight classes, but Kovalev went down like a sack of potatoes. Hell naw, Cinnabon doesn't get any credit for that bullshxt.

Lol how was Kovalev damaged goods when he won nearly every round against Yarde except 8 and 9? Classic excuses but what else is new. Kovalev was also beating Canelo until he got caught and he also beat Andre Ward in the 1st fight everyone with eyeballs knows that too. How does the undefeated champion win 6 rounds including a knockdown and lose a decision?

Yarde is a good person but has **** stamina and it doesn't look like that will ever change he was huffing and puffing by round 4 against Beterbiev.

Beterbiev wasn’t lying. He didn’t struggle that much against Gvozdyk who I ranked higher than Yarde when he fought Beterbiev. Gvozdyk was also a title
                holder at the time.

Beterbiev is an old fighter, nearly every fight is tough for him at this point.

Yarde is clearly a Top 5 light heavy. He was green when he fought Kovalev and has improved immensely since. You can't name another fighter at 175 clearly better other than the two champs.
