Cotto had an awful game plan that night.

But he still had much left in the tank.

Went on to win 3 rounds off of Mayweather and 4 or 5 rounds off Alvarez in a weight class Cotto was undersized in.

How damaged was Cotto against Canelo?

Let's be honest, Cotto didn't look good post Margarito. Very selective matchmaking definitely helped and you could see he wasn't back together mentally. Man went and got tatted up like he was going through a midlife crisis.

That being said, Manny looked great that night but I feel multiple things can be true.

In addition, Cotto was forced to cut down in weight to a 145 lbs after he clearly had outgrown the weight division.

Cotto did a good job against Pacmain IN EARLY ROUNDS... He easily countered Pacman in round 1 and 2, but Pacman caught him in round 3 and 4. Cotto lost his head after that and Pacman annihalated him through round 12. Cotto was a great fighter. Pacman was just too fast and powerful that night. If Pacman fought the undefeated Cotto, that's a different story. But I think Pacman will edge the undefeated Cotto

Someone should ask cotto who's better, pac or nelo. Cotto might not have had his best night against pac, but that's not pac fault, cotto responsibility to get himself in shape. Yes, Pac made you look bad, but don't mean you was bad, why take credit away from pac?
                Pac offered rematch at 147

I think he was still a quality fighter. He definitely proved it against Floyd. The only poor performance I can remember was when he lost to Trout.

Pacquiao simply has a style which is a nightmare for Cotto to deal with.

That’s all subjective and as I said man, Floyd’s opinion is a lot more relevant than yours on the matter.

The toughest opponent of his career in his opinion.

I think this version of Pacquiao would’ve beaten Mayweather to be honest. I just don’t get how Cotto had his friend be his head trainer for a fight like this
