Ask a fighter. Or hold a heavy bag during work. From my experience being a 6'2 "220 pound man in shape who swapped leather with many types here is what I can report.

At in lower weights you feel a little power against your body holing the bag. I have held the bag for welter weights and above.

The little guys below that weight hardly register anything in terms of power and to me all would have fine crystals as chins IF they were heavyweights. Like a woman you don't hit them, not even in a sport for combat. Little guys seldom work on heavy bag / need someone holding it. I'n not saying they aren't warriors as they are boxers rather I'm saying there are 17 weights classes for a reason, 18 if you count the " bridge weight division "

At 160 you can feel the punches holding a bag IMO this is the weight where power generally changes in boxing, sometimes a really hard hitting weight can hit though is rare.

At 175 some guys can definitely hit hard and you are glad there is a bag between your body. A very good to great puncher here can knock out guys above his class.

At heavyweight it's often off the charts. But you have to spar hard to experience it. Heavy's don't like hard sparring often! But for the little guys its no big deal.

I agree, they are forcing these bouts and they turn out to be snoozers. They are not that many top women fighters to make it entertaining.

The Serrano/Taylor and the last Shields fight were entertaining. The most exciting female fight IMO was Christy Martin
