We all did, Yarde. A hammer blow to your face that you never recovered from. Old Kovalev still beats Beterbiev. Nash out

Yarde needs to fix his stamina if he ever wants to become a champion. He could probably drop down to 160 if he deflated those muscles a bit it would certainly improve his gas tank.

I think yarde himself gave his corner the 'i dont want to continue' look once he got floored by beterviev, not saying hes quitter but I think it was at that moment he knew he was fooked up Lol, no shame on that but he needs to drop that 'lions in the camp' motto.

That was the best, most healthy, honest statement I have heard in a long time. Yarde is not blaming his corner, no conspiracies, none of the usual bat shyt crazy nonsense. “Tunde and my team, they care about me and love me, they’re seeing something that I’m not seeing,” In another words, I fight full tilt, life and limb and my corner advises me and makes sure that I don't lose my life or a limb.

All this tells me that Yarde is mature, capable and still learning, he'll be back.

It looked that way but most fighters, whether on the giving or receiving end of a knockdown will look to their corner, it's common.

This was an early stoppage. I see no reason for throwing in the towel - other than the way Yarde looked like he didn't want to carry on after he got knocked down. It looked like he wanted out. People say AJ quit against Ruiz - but AJ looked 1000% more committed to fighting on than Yarde looked here

UK fights are annoying as hell- full of early ref stoppages and when that doesn't happen - the fighters quit themselves!

I'm glad you said this - Yarde's defense was poor. He did nothing to evade shots or cover his head and he kept staying in the corner and getting beat on.
              I completely agree with you.

And yardes defence was poor because it IS poor! He is not a particularly good boxer and hasn't really developed in any appreciable way. His size, strength and athleticism has taken him further than hs actual boxing ability would suggest he'd get.

Imagine throwing in the towel when your man is up by 5 rounds to 2 (as was the case on one of the judges’ scorecards).

Either you stopped it too early or the judge has been scoring the wrong fight.

                I’d vote for the latter!
As someone said earlier, Great fight, terrible cards.

Yarde is like AJ light a physical specimen, not the greatest boxer, has a stamina problem and will have a uphill battle to get to the top.

Yarde won’t be the last good fighter outshined by a great. His bad luck is to be campaigning in the shadow of Beterbiev, but luckily for him not for much longer. He should be setting his eyes on the division 18 months or so from now when the mountain will be much less steep.
