Comments Thread For: Artur Beterbiev-Anthony Yarde: Stats & Stakes

By Cliff Rold - When the bombs start flying between two men with near perfect knockout percentages, all we can do is sit, watch, and wait. Someone is hitting the showers early. Defending lineal light heavyweight king Artur Beterbiev is a heavy favorite to win on Saturday at Wembley (ESPN+, 3:30 PM EST), and for good reason. Challenger Anthony Yarde might have an almost perfect knockout mark (22 in 25 fights), but he's also lost twice and been stopped once.

If Yarde don't use his head movement, he will be knocked out in round 2 probably a left just like how Kovalev got him. Yarde has a shorter reach. He will be caught by strong jabs often.

I expect this to be short night for Beterbiev, KO in round 3 or 4. I really don't give Yarde a chance but for some reason i'm really looking forward for this, i don't know why. Maybe it's because nothing beats watching boxing on saturday night?

I'm predicting another Joe Smith Jr. clash. Artur seems to improve with age.

If I'm gonna make a case for Yarde it'll be that he doesn't seem intimidated, unlike may Beterbiev opponents, & he obviously can really ****. I just can't see him doing it, I'm afraid. Beterbiev knows Yarde has power & he isn't going to rush this. In fact, he never needs to rush anyway. As the fight goes on the vast disparity in experience (Beterbiev came up through the old 'Soviet-style' coaching system & had 300 amateur fights. Yarde didn't box until he was 19 & had a handful of amateur & unlicensed fights) will become all too apparent. I like Yarde but this is a hurdle too high for him. Beterbiev by TKO around 8-11.

How is he inactive? He just unified six months ago.

that’s considered pretty active these days, unfortunately.

I don’t think Charlo160 has even fought since Covid lol
