Golden Boy would probably match Berlanga carefully, as with Munguia, for a bit, and then put them up against each other. Seems an action packed in-house fight.

There just hasn’t been that level of PR fighter around recently, top rank tried and the last one ended up in prison on a murder rap. I just don’t see berlanga having the talent or fan appeal top rank thought he did. I mean they were willing to gamble on Verdejo even after he lost, they let berlanga go even without a debacle
This is a solid post. Xander Zayas will be the next boxer TR pushes into this space. He seems to have the skills Berlanga lacks.

TR made the right choice imo. Lets hope Zayas can remain focused and not get caught up in the life like Camacho did.

Xander Zayas might just be that guy! Subriel "Browny" Matias is a real dog, but his promoter seems weak! For example, this upcoming title fight should NOT be in Minneapolis! It should be at the Barclay's in Brooklyn, or somewhere in Florida!

I get your point. It just made me lmfao that you called Munguia v Berlanga a super fight. 2 c level stars on Dazn. Lol.

Golden Boy has nobody for him to fight. This would be a bad signing. He needs to go to PBC where all the 160-168 guys are that he could realistically fight in the next 2 years if he considers himself a real contender.

Oscar just sees an opportunity to get Munguia a fight that would generate interest but pose minimal risk as he continues to hide Munguia from the real fights that need to happen.

Think everyone's got it spot on. Golden Boy don't have many headliners, and they really need to get Munguia a good fight - they seem to be avoiding any titlists. The matchmaking will need to be good for Berlanga's next one or two fights though, because he'll need a KO or two to make a Munguia fight seem like it isn't a foregone conclusion.

Get Munguia in with Mosley Jr and then Jacobs at a catchweight (as low as you can get him), get Berlanga in with a reasonable name who seems fairly shot (O'Sullivan/Lemieux) and then Rosado, as others have said, and then put them in together - that has to be their plan.

Mungia vs Berlanga is a big fight..

the winner then is knocking on Canelo’s door

With Munguia and Canelo with future opponents, maybe the Welfare line will start to move forward.
