There are plenty of examples of same result but on paper ko or tko. E.g Fury Wilder 3 ref called it without a count and it went down as a KO. Povetkin put Whyte to sleep ref called it without a count, went down as a TKO. Pacman put Hatton to sleep no count, KO

Ref waived it because he knew he wasn’t getting up. Still a KO.

What if the corner stops it between rounds like when Garcia couldnt see? Should they go to the scorecards? The ref didnt stop the fight and Tank didnt knock him out but it was still called a KO.

              - - Povetkin credited with KO of Whyte who was down and completely out for several minutes.

Interesting, I hadn't noticed the inconsistency. I didn't remember the exact fights but I did have it in my head that some clean KOs go down as TKOs when the ref waves it off instead of finishing the count.

A knock out is when the fighter does not make it up, for the count of 10.

Fury stopped Wilder in their second fight, and the third fight was Technical Knock Out 'If we are getting extremely specific'.

But most people would class, the fight conclusion as a Knock Out etc.

KO doesn't have to be 100% cold like Whyte-Pove. It was KO.
