Bivol has the Canelo rematch option and time on his side. The onus is on Beterbiev really, he's not getting any younger.

Smart move by eddie. Throw smith at beterbiev as mandatory and see if he can steal the belt. Then he can put a unification with bivol on dazn without having to deal with arum.

And honestly this is better for bivol as well. If smith wins he can fight him in england for a better payday than he would probably get against beterbiev. If smith loses that is just more time for beteviev to get older.

I don't know if beterbiev is really the bside. While he doesn't have a canelo win on his resume, he has 3 of the 4 belts and a platform in espn that people actually watch. i would guess that beterbiev could draw better in montreal than bivol could anywhere other than maybe russia.

Yarde is with Frank Warren, Queensberry, who affiliates with Top Rank often, so of course, he would except the Yarde as a mandatory. He plans to fight Yarde, then undisputed championship in June/July. If Hearn has Bivol tied up, then Beterbiev could face Azeez, McCrory, or Bauderlique, he could even make a push for Zurdo in his next fight, and push hard for the undisputed after.
