Now I understand why Benn wanted to fight Eubank jr.

Eubank jr. looks very soft at 160. He belongs to 168, honestly. I am not looking for excuses for him, but this dude belongs to 168. I don`t understand why he wanted to fight a welterweight at some ****** catchweight.

I wonder what the dynamics of the Benn/Eubank negotiations would become now. I would guess Eubank's defeat by Smith would have no bearing, I think. These promoters are relentless. They'll make a huge story out of B-class fighters.

Sad Benn was so scurred and doubted his skills he had to juice to his gills...

And people will buy it too that’s the thing. The promotion on sky sports for these nonsense PPV fights tends to get a lot of attention in Ireland/UK anyway. I’d no intention of watching that fight when it was announced, found myself drawn to it to this week given the controversy the last few days.

found myself watching it tonight (albeit by stream, wouldn’t pay for that)

How was Benn supposed to know Eubank was going to look so bad?

He hasn't shown anything in this previous few fights to suggest he'd be whooped by a smaller fighter

Hence the bookies had him favourite

Perhaps you believe Benn possesses the gift of foresight?

well it’s obvious why he wanted to drain Eubank to 157 while Benn was juicing. Now you know why Eubank sr didn’t want his son at 157. These people know boxing.

Doesn’t necessarily mean Benn would do the same
though. Benn has beaten nobody but journeymen and washed up fringe level fighters. He’s got no chin either, which is why they haven’t put him in with a puncher since he got a gift v that French journeyman. The uppercuts Eubank hit Smith with would finish Benn.

The real reason Benn wanted to fight Eubank was because his own division is full of killers and possibly he isn’t going to get a big payday there because he will get beaten before he gets a chance to. so he knew he could fight Eubank, get paid and even if he loses they can just put it down to size, no harm done. But they were juicing and gonna drain Eubank just to enhance their chances.

And for the record, Smith would smash Benn into submission with ease.

Eubank has faded in the second half of fights.

People put it down to testing new skills that Roy taught him, but Benn could probably see... Eubank was open to being caught and didn't have many rounds in him.

It could also be that it made a huge amount of £s lol

                    - - 4-0 with a WBA interim middleweight title below 168 in his last 4 fights before tonite.
