It's just a keep busy fight, Smith is a nailed on mandatory via the WBC and all signs point to him being Beterbiev (or Yarde's) next opponent.
“I can guarantee the WBC board reviewed on Sunday – Callum Smith is the mandatory,” Sulaiman said. “He’s allowed to do a interim fight because Beterbiev is gonna do the WBO mandatory. The winner must fight Callum Smith. Smith is permitted to do a fight. However, if he loses that fight, he will lose his position as mandatory challenger.”
Smith Buatsi doesn't make sense right now; and Buatsi is basically next in line for Bivol's WBA title.

This is a pretty good fight, I would've preferred Pacheco Coceres but maybe he's not quite ready for that but he's still only 21.Last edited by Body the jab; 01-19-2023, 02:28 PM.Leave a comment:

Sounds like a decent step-up for the kid. He's still pretty young, but seems to show improvement as he's been moved along. Going to the UK to fight a UK fighter isn't exactly the best scenario for him at this stage of his career, but who knows what Hearn is up to with this one.Leave a comment:

Jack Cullen is a good fight for pachecho. Because Cullen isn't a world beater but he's a decent pro an its the kinda step ups pachecho needs this yearLeave a comment:

At this point Callum Smith shouldn't be fighting "yet-to-be-named" opponentsLeave a comment:
